"Magical girls are still human? What does that mean?"
I asked, and this time Liu Mulan stopped being cryptic.
"It means that even without the Great Will's Breeding Facility, people can reproduce on their own. The Great Will merely removed males from the sexes, but..."
She pointed below her lower abdomen.
"Our bodies-magical girls' bodies-still have uteruses. If we can find a way to create males or achieve same-sex reproduction, having children isn't impossible."
I hated to admit it, but she really was a biologist.
Still, this loophole was probably something Mi Xue had left behind when she took the easy route and tinkered with human genetic factors to create magical girls...
She could close that loophole whenever she wanted. It was too early to celebrate.
"So what if we can? The Great Will won't allow humans to reproduce freely. What she wants is a balance between light and darkness, and to prevent a population explosion. Free reproduction would make that impossible. In fact, doing this wouldn't benefit magical girls as they are now in the slightest."
An imbalance between light and darkness meant the world's capacity would shrink, and that in turn meant a lower limit on the total population it could support. The resulting vicious cycle could cause the entire world to collapse.
So from Mi Xue's perspective, allowing free reproduction was absolutely out of the question.
"I understand what you mean, but we can solve it in our own human way."
"How are you going to resolve such an irreconcilable conflict?"
Liu Mulan clearly hadn't come up with a good solution yet. She closed her eyes with a pained expression, but said nothing more...
"Ahem, let's all calm down a little~"
Yin Lu also tried to play peacemaker. Knowing that I resented Enheria, she didn't continue the
