The formless Black Mud did indeed settle down for a while.
But less than a minute later, the restless darkness began churning once more, radiating hostility toward everyone present.
Its movements had become primitive and reckless, as though it had regressed to its earliest stage. Professor Stratos's Black Light spotlight seemed to have reformatted the Great Blood.
That made it much easier to deal with, though.
"Ceruno, can your magic power still hold out?"
SpiCa murmured beside me:
"Headquarters has arranged a landing site. We still need to fly some distance from here."
"Huh? Didn't you say we'd go down into the sea after dealing with the Great Blood?"
"I meant we'd get rid of her before lifting the barrier, to prevent her from absorbing this world's darkness and continuing to grow. But the barrier itself can be moved."
She pointed at the wormhole above us again.
"This place is also connected to the Other Side. There's a risk of an enemy counterattack, so we have to close this wormhole first and reopen one at the landing site."
The domain barrier was sustained by wormhole energy, while the wormhole itself was sustained by the electricity of more than half the city.
Headquarters and every branch had merged their Wormhole Devices. Only by gathering the strength of the entire world could they sustain a wormhole even larger than City School.
"Um, so... during the transfer, Terra and I still have to keep it going?"
SpiCa nodded.
"Yes. We'll continue suppressing the Great Blood. Its current state is still manageable... We'll leave City School's shield to you two."
I hadn't expected that even after returning to Earth, I would still have to maintain such a huge bubble...
Miss Terra, would that be all right?
"You're still worried about that after getting
