With Jaeger's guidance, I finally figured out how to operate Mimir.
It was her first time using it too, but she picked it up quickly.
It was a device that required neither typing nor voice input. All you had to do was hold it and think, and it would automatically enter and send the text. Sometimes, though, it sent stray thoughts along with it, which made it tricky to master, but convenient once you got used to it.
"A-Yao?"
After I sent a string of messages, the person who appeared before me was the war correspondent sent by the Earth Crystal. She waved another Mimir at me.
"Why is it you?"
"Wow! You sound so disappointed to see me!"
With her hands behind her back, she looked up at me, her lips pursed in displeasure.
Then she added, "Besides, the other you asked me to find you! She's getting ready to talk some sense into the Proxy and won't be free for a while. If you have anything to say, you can tell me."
I glanced back at the busy professor and the other researchers. They were studying the "Radiant Radiation Egg" I had just finished transforming, and Metal hadn't delivered any more Witch Cocoons...
With nothing to do for the moment, I took A-Yao's hand.
"Come with me. Let's talk somewhere else."
"Okay..."
The surface was engulfed in darkness, so we could only head farther underground.
Fortunately, Zodiacal was very quiet now. Most of the magical girls had moved to Lunar City to stand by, and even SpiCa and the medical department were preparing to head down. Darkness was still seeping into the underground passages. If they didn't leave soon, they might not be able to leave at all.
"Let's talk here."
I found a small break room.
