The great will's... avatar.
Originally, the avatar was an alternate persona created to communicate with the Natives. That alone showed how differently the great will and the earth crystal operated.
But now, the avatar had appeared to absorb the Proxy and use her magic to fully free its sealed true body.
Unlike the other Monsters and great progeny, the avatar was the great will itself, just without the strength of its true body.
The Proxy really could do that. She could easily break the Dark Seal and release the darkness, or create a vast domain. If the great will absorbed her, the earth crystal would no longer be able to restrain it with Ceruno's magic.
Then the great will would descend, bringing the eternal night era the Proxy had fought so hard to prevent. Humanity, still lacking resistance to darkness, would go extinct, and civilization would vanish...
The collision of light and darkness might even annihilate the entire world.
"Proxy, head back to base and take shelter. Leave the tracking to us."
We were clearly putting her safety first, yet the pink-haired shorty planted her hands on her hips in protest.
"Huh? You want me to take shelter? Who do you think you're looking down on?! A mere avatar isn't enough to kill me! You should worry about A-Yao instead. She might actually get killed! After all, she's completely worthless to that thing!"
A-Yao was only a simulacrum personality, a temporary representative for the earth crystal. She was of no use to the great will, either.
Would it kill her to vent its anger?
Was the great will smart enough to take hostages?
Meanwhile, the other me questioned Mom.
"Mom, can you see what it did?"
"Uh, yes... Its thought traces are a mess, but it did leave some behind...
