Thank goodness, the Earth Crystal had finally made a move!
But it really knew how to keep its cool, huh?
Even with a gun pressed against its forehead, it had still gambled that Mi Xue's gun wasn't loaded...
It had probably realized there really were bullets in there and started panicking.
Though I had plenty of complaints about the Earth Crystal, any sign of action was a good thing.
"So, what brilliant strategy does that great, radiant, righteous native god of Earth have for dealing with the Outer God's assault? After holding its breath underwater for so long, surely it isn't still planning to sacrifice humanity to save itself?"
If that really was the case, I would rather let Mi Xue smash it to pieces.
If humanity was doomed anyway.
"Don't be so extreme. You're supposed to be the spokesperson for light, aren't you?"
Terra tried to reason with me. "The Earth Crystal hasn't directly nullified the Lunar Barrier. It only restored the communications that had been cut off... If it removed the barrier completely, the effects of Time Acceleration would vanish too. Inertia would send the moon crashing into Earth within hours, and then it would shatter into pieces."
Without the barrier's protection, the moon, which was less dense than Earth, certainly wouldn't be able to reach the Earth Crystal, but humanity would be finished.
The fact that the Earth Crystal hadn't done that at least meant she still intended to save humanity...
I looked at the others in the dorm room.
"Sorry, looks like I have to get back to work."
Only I could hear Terra's alarm. Sophia and the others would have to wait a while for the notification from above, so my abrupt departure left them confused.
"You're leaving? You only just sat down!"
