If you say you'll outsmart them, actually outsmart them

When Hyacinth said the word "outsmart," Bailing was the first to lose composure.

"Outsmart them? Are you serious?" Bailing the cleric asked in confusion.

"Yes, outsmart them." Hyacinth the hero nodded, brimming with confidence.

"...Then what's your plan? Let's hear it."

Bailing clearly didn't believe Hyacinth could come up with a remotely sound scheme, but curiosity prompted the question anyway.

After spending so much time together, Bailing had Hyacinth completely figured out:

First, Hyacinth could absolutely be trusted when it came to taking a beating. Her ability to withstand punishment was world-class. She had taken a point-blank salvo from Iris's Shadow of the Stars head-on and only spent a day laid up.

Second, nothing she said along the lines of "I have a great idea" could be trusted. Most of those ideas were absolute disasters.

"I've thought of a brilliant tactic!"

Not noticing Bailing's hesitation, Hyacinth raised a finger and told her companions,

"Look, doesn't the rulebook explain how falling damage works? The bigger the character, the more falling damage they deal. So we can do this—"

"Marigold's druid hides on the cliff and waits. Once we get deep into the legion's camp and find the general, the druid flies off the cliff, gets right above her, and transforms!"

"That'll dispel the flying magic on its own, and then we can use her bear form's weight to land a devastating blow on the commander from above!"

"I call it [Owlbear Air Drop]! Well? Isn't it a flawless plan?"

Hyacinth looked expectantly at Iris, who was closest to her, plainly hoping for her companion's approval.

At a complete loss for words, Iris gave Hyacinth a helpless look, then glanced back at Marigold, who was happily chatting with Shasha.

The two were discussing how this TRPG worked and a few useful tricks.
