Night had fallen.
Li Changfeng had been traveling nonstop. Without realizing it, the sky had turned pitch-black and all sound had faded away. Especially deep in the mountains and forests, the silence was downright terrifying.
Li Changfeng struck a tinderbox and lit a torch, then slowly made his way forward. Suddenly, he spotted a dilapidated temple ahead.
The temple was in utter disrepair, with seven or eight holes punched through its roof. Chilling gusts seeped out from within, along with a crumbling stone statue covered in fangs that looked especially savage and terrifying.
"This temple is wrecked beyond belief! Good thing it isn't raining, or there wouldn't even be a roof over my head!"
Li Changfeng gathered some wood nearby, lit a fire inside the temple, and built up a roaring blaze. Sitting on the ground, he took out some beef jerky and a jug of wine and began eating with relish. Suddenly, a sinister gust swept past him, making him shudder from the cold!
