Bang! Bang! Bang!
Golden bullets came flying at Mark one after another!
"Armament Haki: Hardening!"
Jet-black Armament Haki covered his vital areas.
Flying through the air, Mark had both hands occupied using his ability, so he could only dodge and endure the bullets head-on.
Fortunately, the bullets were not very powerful, and since most of the shooters were ordinary people, their aim was poor as well.
After the barrage ended, Mark had only gained a few insignificant wounds.
"Krieg, take these bombs back!!!"
Mark flung the bombs drawn to his right hand by his ability. The cannonballs immediately scattered like petals, smashing toward Krieg's pirate ship.
Krieg's pupils contracted. He hurriedly raised his shield in front of himself and roared:
"Damn it! Stop those cannonballs for me!"
There were more than a dozen bombs that Mark had drawn over with his ability. Although they were all twelve-pound cannonballs, so many gathered together were enough to blow half of the Dreadnought Saber to pieces!
"Run! Run!"
"So many cannonballs—we're dead!"
"There are too many! We can't stop them!!!"
When had the crew aboard Krieg's pirate ship ever experienced such a barrage of cannon fire, especially at such close range?
They were terrified, and some had already jumped into the sea.
Bara stared blankly at the incoming cannonballs. At that moment, even the shield on his body no longer gave him enough of a sense of security, and his eyes faintly began to turn white!
A sheen of cold sweat appeared on Gin's face as he tightly gripped the metal ball-tipped tonfas on both arms.
"Do you all want to die? I told you to stop those cannonballs!!!"
Krieg suddenly bellowed and shot a pirate who had jumped overboard. For a moment, the entire pirate crew fell silent.
Gin also realized something was wrong with the situation around them and hurriedly commanded, "Fire! Aim at those cannonballs and shoot!"
The cannonballs were already about to collide head-on with the Dreadnought Saber.
"Fire! Fire now!"
"We can't let the bombs explode on the ship!"
"Otherwise, we'll all die on this ship!"
Gin roared, swinging the metal ball in his hand at a cannonball.
With a boom, the cannonball shattered under his strike, fell into the sea, and exploded.
But the dozen or so cannonballs that followed were not so easy to intercept, and these pirates' marksmanship was truly terrible. After everyone fired wildly in turn, several cannonballs still made intimate contact with the Dreadnought Saber.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The cannonballs exploded instantly, blasting a huge hollowed-out area into the pirate ship.
Mark curled his lip and raised an eyebrow. "Cannonballs in the pirate world seem like they can't blow up anything except ships!!!"
Whether it was slicing cannonballs apart with blades, smashing them with fists, or taking them head-on with Haki.
Before anyone with even a little strength, the power of cannonballs seemed utterly insignificant.
"It wouldn't be bad to test out my new move, though I'm still not very familiar with it..."
Using his Attraction Force to fly onto the mast, black mist began to seep from Mark's body. Rings of dark aura spread from beneath his feet, dyeing the Dreadnought Saber black.
"What is that!"
"What are these black things?"
"Look at that guy Mark..."
The pirates stared at the incredible scene in amazement. Black always gave people an ominous feeling, and now these pirates felt incomparably stifled, their eyes unconsciously filling with panic.
Krieg gritted his teeth as he stared at Mark. "This is the power of a Devil Fruit. I've heard such power is incredibly strong. All of you, get up!"
At his words, the panicked pirates around him immediately moved aside.
Krieg strode forward.
He suddenly burst into action. The shield in his hand instantly transformed into a War Spear, which he swung fiercely toward the mast!
"Captain Krieg, what are you doing!!!"
Gin thought Krieg had gone mad again and hurried forward to stop him.
After all, if a pirate ship lost its mast, it would be equivalent to losing the ability to sail the seas. Although Mark had badly damaged the pirate ship earlier, the ship itself had not suffered any major structural damage.
Krieg ignored Gin and swung the War Spear again, shouting:
"But this devilish power has one fatal weakness: it turns its user into a helpless landlubber! As long as we break the mast and send that bastard Mark into the water with it, we win!!!"
The War Spear in his hand whistled with sonic booms. One had to know that this was a War Spear weighing a full ton.
With such immense strength, it was no wonder Krieg had dominated the East Blue.
Rumble!
The mast was cut halfway through by the War Spear. Mark looked coldly at Krieg below!
He was right. If Mark fell into the sea, he would definitely die. But Krieg was underestimating him too much—had he developed his Attraction Force just for fun?
Veins bulged on Mark's forehead, and his eyes faintly began to turn white!
A crushing pressure spread from behind him as a pillar of darkness surged out from his back.
"Liberation!!!"
In an instant, crushed planks, fragments, roof tiles, and other debris surged madly from the pillar of darkness. In the blink of an eye, they buried the Dreadnought Saber beneath them.
These were all his stored reserves.
They might have only been fragments, but their falling force was considerable. The ordinary pirates aboard the Dreadnought Saber were instantly wiped out.
Because Gin and Bara reacted in time, they suffered serious injuries but did not die.
Krieg wore a full suit of armor. After Mark finished unleashing Liberation, he was completely unharmed, though cracks had appeared in his golden armor.
Mark looked at the Dreadnought Saber beneath his feet, now piled into a small mountain, and a hint of helplessness flashed across his face.
"Liberation really is hard to control!"
Mark had a good idea for developing the Liberation ability.
That was to imitate Golden Lion and Fujitora's moves, using meteors or islands to crush people.
Naturally, he had taken action toward that goal by using Black Hole to absorb large amounts of bricks, tiles, and rubble.
Ever since he had come up with the idea, he practiced Liberation whenever he had time, hoping to use its power to create a massive aggregate of sand and stone, then release it in an instant to unleash a catastrophic blow.
But what had just happened was clearly a failure.
It was still ordinary Liberation. The ability released the fragments like he was throwing out garbage, tossing chunk after chunk without being able to deliver a fatal, instantaneous strike to the enemy.
"This ability is so hard to control!"
Mark sighed, drew the Mountain-Splitting Axe from his back, and walked before Bara. Seeing his missing leg and body wreathed in white flames, Mark showed not the slightest pity. The giant axe came down, raising a spray of blood mist.
The flames vanished, and Flame Bara became Dead Bara!
"Sure enough... even dogs wouldn't eat the Flame-Flame Fruit!"
It seemed that plenty of people in the pirate world could use fire-based abilities.
Mark sighed, then swung his axe again and took Gin's head.
The man was loyal, that was true, but not to Mark. Gin was an enemy now, even though there were rumors that he would become the future Green Bull...
Finally, Mark came before the completely unharmed Krieg...
