Morning sunlight filtered through the gap in the curtains. Edward rubbed his sleepy eyes, then got up and headed to the bathroom.
After washing up, Edward slipped on a light jacket and went out to buy some steaming-hot breakfast.
When he returned to the room carrying breakfast, Jennifer had just woken from her sleep as well.
Her slightly drowsy eyes looked toward Edward, and the corners of her lips lifted faintly. She said softly, "I thought you'd already left."
Smiling, Edward raised the breakfast in his hand. Jennifer stepped gracefully over to him, rose slightly onto her toes, and gave him a tender kiss.
After breakfast, Edward thoughtfully walked Jennifer home. Then he turned and headed toward his own house.
The sky, which had been clear moments ago, had somehow filled with dark clouds.
In the blink of an eye, bean-sized raindrops came pattering down, instantly turning into a torrential downpour.
Edward remained unhurried. A strange gleam flashed through his eyes, and he used Telekinesis to form an invisible barrier around himself, shielding him from the pouring rain.
To others, Edward seemed to be standing in the rain, yet not a single drop touched him as he strolled leisurely through the downpour.
Meanwhile, in a house in the neighborhood ahead, Billy was lying sick in bed.
His younger brother George, however, was delighted because his brother was home sick and could play with him.
Billy forced himself to stay awake and carefully made a paper boat for his little brother.
Though simple, the paper boat carried the bond between the brothers, gleaming faintly in the dim light.
As it happened, it began to rain outside.
Raindrops struck the window with crisp taps, as if calling out to George.
Excited, George put on his yellow raincoat and dashed out of the house like an unbridled colt. He gently placed the paper boat into the pooled water, and it drifted slowly along with the current.
But as the boat gradually approached the sewer drain, the current became swifter, and the boat sped up more and more.
Seeing this, George hurried after it on his little legs. But no matter how hard he tried, the paper boat was like a runaway horse, drifting farther and farther away.
Finally, with a whoosh, the paper boat plunged into the sewer and vanished without a trace. George froze in place, staring at the drain with disappointment and frustration filling his eyes.
George stared at the paper boat that had disappeared into the sewer, his heart full of loss.
Just as he was about to turn around and go home, a strange sound suddenly came from inside the sewer—"gurgle, gurgle"—as though something were stirring the filthy water.
George's curiosity was immediately piqued, and he could not help moving closer.
Then, a pale, paper-white face slowly emerged from the sewer opening. Its face was painted with exaggerated makeup, its blood-red lips stretched all the way to its ears, revealing a mouthful of yellowed, uneven teeth. It was a bizarre clown.
The clown narrowed its eerie yellow eyes and stared straight at George. In a shrill, alluring voice, it said, "Hey, little one, your paper boat is here. Want it back?"
As it spoke, the clown took out George's lost paper boat from behind its back and waved it in its hand.
George's eyes widened in surprise and joy, and he instinctively reached out to grab it.

Just as his hand was about to touch the paper boat, the clown suddenly shot out a bony hand and clamped down on George's arm like a pair of pincers. Its grip was terrifyingly strong, and George could not break free at all.
The clown laughed madly, its laughter echoing through the rain and sending chills down the spine, while it yanked George toward the sewer with all its strength.
George screamed in terror, "Billy! Billy, save me!" But the rain was pouring down so heavily that its sound drowned out his cries for help.
George struggled desperately, kicking wildly against the ground. His yellow raincoat was torn during the struggle.
Edward had been strolling leisurely through the rain when a terrified cry for help faintly drifted through the wind—"Billy! Billy, save me!" Though masked by the rain, the voice reached Edward's ears with perfect clarity.
His heart tightened. His keen instincts told him something was wrong, and without another thought, he sprinted toward the source of the voice.
As he rounded the street corner, he saw a small yellow figure struggling desperately at a sewer opening ahead.
Edward focused his gaze and saw that George was gripping the edge of the sewer with one hand while his other hand was tightly seized by a bony, paper-white hand. The owner of that hand was the eerie-faced clown.
The clown's blood-red mouth stretched wide as it let out a bone-chilling cackle, trying to drag George down into the dark sewer Abyss.
In an instant, Edward used Purification-infused Telekinesis to move George to safety. The clown's hand was burned away by the Purification-infused Telekinesis, and a searing, pure Purification Power surged up its arm like a raging wildfire.
Wherever the Purification Power passed, the clown's skin instantly cracked open, releasing waves of pungent black smoke.
A miserably shrill scream erupted from the clown's mouth, sharp enough to tear through the gloomy sky.
Its body twisted and struggled wildly amid the flames of Purification, its limbs flailing chaotically. Its already bizarre face became even more grotesque with pain.
Then Edward unleashed another Telekinetic удар, and the clown's entire body swiftly shattered beneath the blow, eventually turning into a wisp of drifting ash.
George was still badly shaken, gasping for breath with deep fear lingering in his eyes.
Edward walked over, crouched down, and gently patted George's shoulder. In a warm yet stern voice, he said, "Kid, never run out alone when it's raining, understand?" Still trembling with fear, George nodded, tears welling in his eyes.
Edward smiled slightly, picked up the abandoned paper boat from the ground, and handed it to George. "Here. Hurry home. Your family must be worried about you."
George took the paper boat as though clutching onto a trace of warmth and reassurance. Then he turned and ran desperately toward home, his yellow raincoat swaying in the wind and rain as he gradually disappeared into the distance.
Edward slowly rose to his feet. Just as he turned around, his gaze casually swept toward the distance.
There, beneath a tree with twisted branches, stood the clown that had just turned to ash.
The clown held a vivid red balloon, which swayed gently in the wind and made a soft rustling sound.
Its face was painted with exaggerated makeup, its blood-red lips stretched to its ears, and its faintly glowing eyes stared fixedly at Edward.
Clearly, Edward had ruined its hunting plan. Edward locked his gaze on the clown before him and said coldly, "Pennywise."
The clown's twisted, bizarre movements suddenly halted. Upon hearing that name, it slowly tilted its head, its faintly glowing eyes fixed straight on Edward. Its gaze was full of confusion and astonishment, as though it found Edward knowing its name utterly strange.
Edward prepared to give it another Purification-infused Telekinetic strike.
But in the blink of an eye, Pennywise vanished without a trace, leaving behind only the empty ground and the faintly swaying red balloon.
