Angel City.
The vast Angel Main Hall was grand and solemn, sacred and austere.
Two rows of silver-armored angels stood on either side below the hall. Beneath the domed ceiling, quite a few more angels circled overhead.
At the highest point of the hall, Angel King Kesha sat upon the Tian Ren Throne. Her expression was somewhat languid, yet the bearing between her brows was enough to inspire reverence and make no one dare act rashly.
This was the pressure of the Angel King—the King who had suppressed an era!
Yan entered the hall with a grave expression. The mysterious events she had encountered on Earth had left her unsettled, and no matter how she pondered them, she could not understand them.
How had she arrived in Angel City in the blink of an eye? The Angel Nebula and Chiwu Star were separated by an unknown number of light-years.
Even at the full speed of the Wings of Time and Space behind her, it would have taken quite some time to get there.
"Greetings, Queen Kesha."
Seeing the Queen upon the throne, Yan temporarily set aside her other thoughts, steadied her breathing, and spoke.
At the side, Zhi Xin stood first among the angels on the right. As the Holy Right Wing, her status was exceptional.
Behind her stood Angel Leng, Yaoyang, Fan Xing, and the others.
On the left, aside from the newly returned Yan, Angel Chase and Ling Xi stood at the front.
Seeing Yan return, Zhi Xin was naturally delighted, her joy written all over her face.
If this had not been the Angel Main Hall, she likely would have run to Yan's side, grabbed her shoulders, and excitedly told her about everything she had experienced lately.
"Yan, you've returned from Chiwu Star? How is it there now? Did you find any trace of Morgana?"
Holy Kesha asked. She reclined against the throne, propping one arm against her brow as her slightly wavy golden hair fell down from her temples.
She appeared somewhat casual, yet carried an authority that no one could defy.
Yan said respectfully,
"Queen, Earth's civilization has indeed entered the Pre-Nuclear Civilization stage. Du Kao, the war maniac from the former De Nuo Star System, officially activated the De Nuo Gene not long ago.
Present-day Earth has quite a few Super Warriors who possess the bloodlines of descendants of the De Nuo Gods.
This is a force that cannot be ignored."
"Understood. Wherever the war maniac goes, war follows. There's no avoiding it.
For a civilization to enter the Pre-Nuclear Civilization stage in only a thousand years, such rapid development naturally means it must face the challenges posed by threats from cosmic civilizations.
Besides, did you find any trace of the demons?" Holy Kesha seemed rather indifferent.
"Morgana has indeed arrived on Earth. She may be hiding in some corner. Furthermore, Morgana may have already advanced to a Fourth Generation Divine Body. My Dark Communication methods are unable to track her whereabouts," Yan said.
"A Fourth Generation Divine Body? Morgana actually succeeded. But Carl that bootlicker must have put in quite a bit of effort behind the scenes."
Kesha mocked her without reservation. This was Angel City, after all; Carl could not hear her.
And even if he did, so what? As the King of Gods, she happened to need a chief god to reinforce her authority.
Yan broke into a cold sweat at Kesha's words.
The Queen truly had no taboos. Publicly insulting a chief god—she was truly domineering.
But at their level, secrets among gods were no longer secrets. They knew a thing or two about that matter.
Carl truly had an unusual relationship with Morgana.
Several times, Morgana had been beaten like a stray dog in the Holy Wars between angels and demons, yet traces of the Nether River always appeared afterward to clean up her mess.
Now that Morgana had advanced to a Fourth Generation Divine Body, judging by the resources involved, with Morgana's meager assets, it would have taken at least ten thousand years to build one.
Yet she had done it in a mere thousand years. That could not help but make people think.
"Queen, Lieyang Civilization seems to have intervened on Earth's side as well," Yan said.
"Lieyang? By my calculations, it has been several hundred years since Sky-Based King He Xi's student Wang Shu returned to Lieyang, hasn't it?" Holy Kesha said.
"Yes. Little Shu has now advanced to the second generation. His combat strength is no weaker than that of an ordinary third generation.
Moreover, Little Shu seems to possess the ability to drive stars. His true strength must not be underestimated," Yan said.
"Is that so? As expected of He Xi's student. Excellent—he has not disappointed me!" Kesha smiled.
Yan did not understand Queen Kesha's attitude at this moment, but she did not ask further. They could discuss anything privately later.
After the Angel Main Hall meeting ended, the left-wing angels led by Yan left the hall together.
Along the way, they naturally asked one another about their recent experiences. Their relationship was exceptionally close.
"Yan Jie, did you see Wang Shu?" Zhi Xin asked impatiently, her little face flushed red with excitement.
"Little Shu is on Earth. I saw him when I returned last time. Over these years, he has grown very quickly. Not only is he handsome, but he is also extremely powerful," Chase said from the side.
"Yes."
Yan sighed softly. Thinking back on her time on Earth, the time she had spent with Wang Shu had been far more interesting than the thousands of years she had spent in Angel City.
Hearing this, Zhi Xin's heart leaped with joy. She could not help yearning for Earth, and she looked forward even more to seeing Wang Shu.
She wanted to tell Wang Shu that she was no longer the weak little angel who needed protection.
Now, she was Queen Kesha's right wing, one of the most outstanding members of Angel City's younger generation.
"Perhaps before long, we'll go to Earth together."
Yan said this because now that they had found Morgana's trail, Queen Kesha would not allow Morgana to remain on Earth.
When the time came, they would surely prepare for battle and head to Earth to eradicate evil.
Nether River Nebula.
In the Death Song Main Hall, Death God Karl sat at his desk, writing the truths of the universe.
The Goose Feather Pen turned back and forth in his hand, characters appearing one after another upon an ancient parchment scroll.
Snap!
A sudden chill ran down his spine. He used a little too much force, and the Goose Feather Pen broke.
Carl's expression froze. The Pen of Truth, which he had used for nearly seven or eight thousand years, had suddenly broken just like that.
Moreover, that abrupt shudder seemed to have arisen instinctively from the depths of his soul, as though someone had set their sights on him in the unseen.
He had transformed himself into a Phantom Body long ago, and for many years he had not experienced emotional reactions like those of God River Life.
"What is going on? Could it be that a god has recently entered my Nether River Star System?" Carl could not help guessing.
The white Goose Feather Pen had broken into two pieces and lay motionless across the yellowed parchment scroll.
At this moment, his general Snow slowly appeared. Standing below in the dim hall, he bowed respectfully and said,
"My god, everything is ready. We need only await your command. The Big Clock will once again open the Worm Door between the Nether River and Chiwu Star System."
"Ah, I actually hate war very much, yet I also love death very much."
Carl suddenly sighed and waved his long sleeve, looking rather helpless.
"My god, you are the supreme God of Death. Death is the beginning of life. Starting a war merely brings them into death's embrace, allowing them to receive the purification of your great truth," Snow said respectfully.
At this, Carl's expression changed. He said calmly,
"War is war, and death is death. Do not dress it up in such grandiose terms.
I cannot be bothered to argue either. Before reaching the Gate of Truth, the wise will always walk alone."
