Xia Yu initially identifies the Ten-Thousand-Year Mysterious Ice Marrow as a heavenly treasure suited to Meng Hongchen and plans to obtain it to strengthen her before the Radiant City Tournament 9. When Meng Hongchen's cold poison backfires, he considers whether the Marrow could address the flaw of her Vermilion-Eyed Ice Toad Martial Soul; he knows it can create Skydream Iceworm and restore the Snow Empress's strength 24.

The Marrow is found within a small, intensely frigid cavern accessed through a dark-blue spring at the bottom of a well.
