"Have you ever seen zombies?"
Lin Dong asked.
"Uh... zombies?"
The children looked confused and shook their heads.
"No, we haven't seen any."
Lin Dong found this even stranger. The entire village was located in the central region of the Corpse Nest.
And yet, they had never seen zombies.
It made Lin Dong feel as though the entire village had been deliberately protected... a human utopia.
"Xiao Le, come home and eat!"
At that moment, a voice came from nearby, calling out to the boy.
Lin Dong followed the sound and saw a girl around seventeen or eighteen years old. She was also dressed in ethnic clothing, silver ornaments dangling from her hat and clattering softly.
The girl had fair skin, a high nose bridge, deep-set eyes, and sharply defined features. She was undoubtedly the kind of stunning beauty one rarely encountered.
"Sis~~~"
The boy cried out joyfully and scampered over.
The girl looked over with bright eyes. Judging from Lin Dong's clothes, he clearly was not from the village.
"Y-you're an outsider?"
"Yeah."
Lin Dong nodded.
The girl looked surprised and curious. Outsiders were rarely seen here, and she was extremely warm and hospitable.
"What are you doing here? Do you need any help?"
"I'm here to ask about something."
Lin Dong answered frankly.
"Oh, okay."
The girl nodded repeatedly. Her large eyes blinked innocently, with no hint of wariness. Following her principle of helping others, she said,
"Would you like to sit at my home? Maybe I can help you."
"All right, thank you."
Lin Dong did not refuse.
He then followed the girl all the way to her home. It felt like a traveler from elsewhere being warmly taken in by the locals.
That was truly rare in the apocalypse.
The world really is full of wonders...
