Barton's body quickly landed atop the mountain peak. The immense force cracked the ground beneath his feet, sending shattered stones flying.
Looking down, he discovered that many monsters were indeed hiding halfway up the mountain. They were enormous, with long claws, mouths full of sharp fangs, and two bell-sized eyes gleaming with vicious light.
They were clearly packs of Corpse-Eating Beasts.
The moment they caught the scent of a zombie, they were startled. Thousands of red eyes turned toward him almost at once.
Roar—
A howl followed, and all the monsters began climbing toward the summit. Their faces were ferocious, their movements exceedingly savage, and every one of them radiated murderous intent.
Before Barton's eyes, the creatures below looked like a horde of demons crawling up from the abyss.
But he was utterly fearless. To him, this was nothing more than a minor scene.
"Trying to hide here? Found you, didn't I?"
Barton raised his fist and smashed it heavily into the ground. SSS-Rank power swept through everything like dry weeds before a storm.
Rumble!
With a deafening crash, the entire mountain peak collapsed. Countless boulders rolled down and crashed toward the Corpse-Eating Beasts.
Miserable cries instantly rang out below. Quite a few vicious Corpse-Eating Beasts tumbled over the cliff edge along with the falling rocks.
According to the Pig-Faced Zombie King, they should at least lose a couple of teeth from that fall...
Of course, there were also S-rank monsters with nimble bodies. They dodged the debris, even stepping on falling boulders before kicking off and leaping upward.
"Not bad... there really are quite a few high-level ones."
Seeing monsters approach, Barton swung out another punch.
The tremendous force was like a heavy hammer smashing a watermelon. With a bang, the Corpse-Eating Beast's body burst apart, blood mist scattering
