Type-Moon, Minamoto Clan, System

(This is the author's first attempt, so please bear with me. Most of it is based on my own ideas, along with some references to Type-Moon lore and anime. If it's poorly written, let me know in the comments.)

Yuan Shikai stared into the starry sky and fell into deep thought, looking at this body that was only five or six years old while absorbing the memories of this world. In his past life, he was a thirty-five-year-old single dog.

After about five minutes, having received all the memories, he opened his eyes and his expression became extremely colorful. He had time-traveled, crossing over into the Type-Moon world.

He had become the young head of the Minamoto Clan, sharing the same name as him: Yuan Shikai. He had never heard of him in his past life's memories, nor had he been mentioned in any Type-Moon works, yet the Genji Clan was undeniably a mage family, even if it was only considered second-rate.

Through his memories, he learned that the Genji Clan was considered a top-tier clan during the Heian Era, and the head at the time, Minamoto no Raikou, had even led us toward glory.

Their lineage was the direct branch of Minamoto no Raikou, but unfortunately, they had chosen the wrong profession back then, all of them becoming samurai. Although the family was vast and wealthy, samurai withdrew from the stage of history as technology developed, and specializing in magecraft put them a step behind other families.

Coupled with an incident hundreds of years ago, the Genji Clan had been in a constant slump ever since. It was rumored that an unknown Caster had broken into the Genji Clan and stolen the family's greatest treasure, Dojigiri Yasutsuna. Almost all the family's experts had died in that battle, causing the Genji Clan's decline.

Still deep in thought, Yuan Shikai heard a shout. "Young Clan Head, the Clan Head summons you," a servant said.

"Understood, I'm coming right now." Walking down the unfamiliar yet familiar corridor, Yuan Shikai felt somewhat apprehensive inside, unsure of what expression to use to face the upcoming conversation. But thinking about it carefully, he was only five years old; what kind of expression could he even have?

Pushing open the door, Yuan Shikai walked up to the old man, knelt on the tatami, and called out, "Clan Head, you called for me?"

The old man raised his head, looked at Yuan Shikai, and said, "Shi Kai, do you understand the current situation of our Genji Clan?"

Hearing these words, a memory surfaced in Yuan Shikai's mind—or rather, this memory was the driving force behind the original owner's diligent efforts every day.

Then he spoke up, "My Genji Clan was originally a top-tier clan in Japan, but after that bloody incident hundreds of years ago, we fell to rock bottom. Our ancestors have always wanted to restore our former glory and have been working hard toward it."

"It's just a pity that, perhaps due to the loss of the family's treasure, Dojigiri Yasutsuna, there haven't been any individuals with high talent in the family since, preventing our clan from recovering its former glory."

"Until five years ago, the truly genuine Dojigiri Yasutsuna was recovered, and after my birth, I was detected to have seventy Magic Circuits, making my magical aptitude the first in the family's history."

"Hailed as the light of the Genji Clan, the family has poured all its resources into supporting me, hoping that I will lead the Genji Clan back to its peak."

Hearing this, the old man said, "That's right. I hope you remember your responsibility. My time is already running out. Although the family elders are all old-fashioned, they also do it for the good of the family."

"After you officially become the Clan Head, as long as you are firm, they will soften and defer to you as the main authority, because you are the hope of the Genji Clan."

Shortly after, Yuan Shikai withdrew from the room. Returning to his own quarters, Yuan Shikai told the servants, "You all step back as well; I want to rest." Then he closed the door, lay down on the bed, and pondered his future.

Yuan Shikai's first reaction was, System, are you there? If you are, please answer. Right after, he heard an instruction in his mind: Command correct, System activating.

Yuan Shikai was extremely excited inside and immediately asked the system, "What features do you have?" The system replied: Host, this system is the Many Children, Great Fortune System. As long as you increase your family members, the system can grant rewards, including attributes, Magic Circuits, magical aptitude, pulling rare items, Mystic Codes, and more. There is nothing you can't think of, only what you can't get.

Upon hearing this news, Yuan Shikai's first thought was whether he had gone to the wrong set. Shouldn't "many children, great fortune" be the mainstream of apocalyptic relaxation???

This was now a society ruled by law with monogamy; he could only take a wife and not concubines! (Prairie dog scream)

However, after asking the system, he learned that as long as the other party met the conditions and was recognized by the system to join the family, it didn't have to be a wife—he could first make them sworn younger sisters to draw gacha, and that would also count among the family members.

After all, the Host is still underage, and besides, Host, you are the head of a major clan, to say nothing of doing it openly—as long as you don't go register your marriage, you can raise them at home, and you can have as many as you want. As long as the girls recognize the Host, that's enough.

The system's hooligan-like words left me extremely shocked. Although it was said that way, it still utterly shocked me, a child deeply influenced by his homeland's nine years of compulsory education. On second thought, if I really did that, wouldn't I be a bit too scummy?

Then the system said that through observations across various universes and my recent investigation of Japan, there were many such people, so the Host didn't need to mind. Host has activated the system for the first time. This system grants a beginner's 10-pull. The Host can draw at any time; please state whether the Host wishes to draw.

Draw, draw, draw, must draw! In his past life, Yuan Shikai loved this sort of thing. Although his gacha luck was rather dark, he wasn't completely African; this was his last shred of stubbornness.

He took the time to study the system. It had a data panel, item inventory, quest log, gacha section, and so on. The gacha mechanic turned out to be the gacha-pulling format of the mobile game FGO, except it didn't drop Servants, only items or Mystic Codes.

The data panel was as follows: Name: Yuan Shikai, Gender: Male, Magic Circuits: 70, Magical Aptitude: A-, various attributes undetermined, attribute points: 16 (attribute points can be allocated freely by the Host). Specific data will only appear when the Host reaches adulthood, so Host, work hard to study and exercise!

Innate Talent: Lifetime Good Fortune (time travel plus system guarantees good fortune), passive effect: probability-based skill triggers have their trigger probability increased by 200%. After active activation, the next probability-based skill is guaranteed to trigger, and status-buff effects are increased by 100%.

Skills: Elementary Swordsmanship 3/300 (you already look like you know what you're doing when swinging a sword), Elementary Magecraft Knowledge 7/500 (you can already skillfully read basic knowledge regarding magecraft; as for whether you can skillfully use it, that depends on luck—at least your luck won't be too bad).

Elementary Reading and Writing (you can read and write some common characters and words: Japanese, Chinese, English, Romanized script, etc., but merely some) Uninitiated level is not described.

Item inventory: empty. Quest log: Main Quest, Clan Glory: As a clan head, leading your ethnic group back to its peak is not a goal, but an obligation.

Quest time: Until you die (after all, once you're dead you won't have a chance anyway). Every time the family rank increases, you can obtain a gacha opportunity. Current family rank: Second-rate mid-tier (after all, it is a clan passed down for a thousand years; though it once declined, its foundation still remains).

System Quest: Survive (if you die, pretend this quest doesn't exist; I'll change hosts).

Gacha section: Newbie 10-pull (the first pull is guaranteed to yield A-grade items or above; subsequent pulls have no pity). Daily system gift of a 10-pull (maximum appearing grade is D-grade).

Item grades: E-F grade items are daily necessities and sundries without magic power. D-C-B grade items are magical items, attribute points, skill points, etc.

Items of A-grade and above are strong magical items, Mystic Codes, Magic Crests, Mystic Eyes, Noble Phantasms, etc., with the upper limit being SSS-grade (god-tier items cannot exist in this world).
