Hishiri Adashino felt miserable. After reporting on her work, she had received no response from Lorelei and could only stand there awkwardly.
She could already imagine the trouble that awaited her for ruining her superior's fun.
She had originally been promised a vacation once she completed this assignment. Now, that vacation was clearly going up in smoke.
"Hishiri, you did an excellent job," Lorelei said. "I should have given you some time off, but we need people right now, and you're the only person at my side I can trust."
"So, sorry for the trouble, but I'll have to ask you to make another trip to Monaco and meet Van-Fem in secret. If you can persuade him, all the better. If not, stay there and await orders."
Sure enough, Hishiri Adashino's premonition had come true. Another business trip awaited her.
Fortunately, conditions in Monaco were quite good. At least she would not have to rough it.
Besides, she had dealt with Van-Fem before. He certainly would not stab her in the back.
A vacation was a vacation, wherever she spent it. It was just a shame that she was already in her twenties and had not even had time for a proper romance.
Hishiri Adashino was no fool. This was clearly advance reconnaissance for Yuan Shikai, meant to sound Van-Fem out.
Yuan Shikai was not surprised either. After all, of all the True Ancestors, Lita Rozay-en and Van-Fem were the easiest to find.
The former presided over the Mystic Eyes Train, while the latter was almost certainly in Monaco.
As for the Black-Winged King and the White-Winged King, who knew where they were?
Yuan Shikai believed Kishua must have spoken with Lorelei.
Even now, if Kishua simply issued a call, more than half the Clock Tower would surely answer it.
