"Tang Hao! Master Su Yuntao from Spirit Hall is here. Hurry and send Tang San over!" Old Jack called into the Blacksmith Shop, leaning on his cane.
"Got it." Tang Hao's voice came from inside, and he led Tang San out.
Tang San had been ready for ages. The moment he stepped outside, he said eagerly, "He's finally here? We're finally going to the Soul Beast Forest?!"
Once he absorbed his First Soul Ring, he would be a true Soul Master, not just a Soul Scholar.
"Looks like you've been waiting long enough, Tang San. Let's go!" Old Jack said with a smile.
"Huh? Have you grown a little taller?" Old Jack rubbed his eyes. Why did Tang San seem taller?
"I don't think so, Old Jack. Hasn't he always looked like this?" Tang Hao said calmly, his expression unchanged.
"Has he?" Old Jack laughed. "I really am getting old. My eyes are starting to play tricks on me."
Despite his aged appearance, Old Jack was not much older than Tang Hao. Tang Hao's former foundation as a Soul Master simply made him look younger.
Old Jack then took Tang San's hand and led him toward the small square at the center of Holy Soul Village.
Calling it a square was generous. It was really just an open space, with a broken stone pillar standing in the middle.
One face of the pillar bore a handprint left by the Soul Sage who had once come from Holy Soul Village.
That was how Holy Soul Village had gotten its name. It had been called something else before that Soul Sage appeared.
