But those had been created by Lucky Star Lucia's life-radiation contamination. Creating the first Undead Skeleton as a vessel for an Ancient God was an entirely different matter.

Yin Ming memorized the Soul Refining Ritual, every movement and every syllable.

His mind passed through the entire ritual, overlapping its moments in time. A person became like the casting sequence of a Sorcery Rune: every movement froze, every syllable stood still, until they formed one complete rune.

Using a rune to cast sorcery took only seconds, or even less.

Divine Era Rituals might have seemed obsolete, but Yin Ming thought the opposite. Any knowledge that formed the foundation of a supernatural civilization held boundless value.

The ritual preserved syllables and movements, then linked them to invoke supernatural power. That meant sorcery could be cast beyond the mental-power limit of a single Mental Rune.

A First-Ring Wizard's permanent mental-power limit was 1,000 points, held in ten Mental Runes with 100 points in each.

A spell could draw power from only one Mental Rune, so a wizard could cast only spells costing no more than 100 points of mental power—in other words, First-Ring sorcery.

But with knowledge of Divine Era Rituals, a wizard could cast sorcery above their level. The greater the gap in level, the greater the advantage.

Nor did the caster need to trace runes with mental power anymore. Sorcery was no longer limited to wizards; even an Immortal Path primordial spirit could cast it through a ritual.
