Lu Xi looked at the Regeneration Cradle, remembering that in Avengers 2, Vision's body was printed by this machine.
He smiled and said, "What a coincidence, I can do this too."
As he spoke, he looked at a white mouse in a cage on the experimental table.
This white mouse looked sickly, missing arms and legs, and had likely been used for regeneration experiments.
Lu Xi stretched out a finger and tapped it gently, a soft green glow covering the white mouse.
Its originally mutilated, missing hands and feet immediately grew tender pink granulation tissue, and in less than two seconds, they fully recovered as if it had never been injured at all.
Moreover, the white mouse seemed to be greatly invigorated, its previous lethargic state instantly swept away as it squeaked exceptionally actively.
Helen Cho's pretty eyes nearly popped out of her head at this sight, and she cried out in disbelief:
"This isn't science! This completely violates biological principles and physical laws!"
Lu Xi grinned and said mysteriously:
"This isn't science, but it's magic. Some forces in the world cannot be explained with existing scientific knowledge."
Helen Cho looked somewhat dazed, murmuring to herself:
"If you can do that with a flick of your finger, then what are all my years of research and the massive funding I've poured into it worth..."
Helen Cho was filled with dismay, but in a split second, she suddenly looked back at Lu Xi.
Her eyes instantly lit up like two brilliant lightbulbs, and she asked excitedly:
"Can this trick of yours cure internal injuries, like stubborn diseases such as leukemia and cancer?"
Lu Xi pondered slightly, and after thinking for a moment, he said:
"I haven't tried it, but it should work. The underlying principle of a Healing Spell is to impart pure life force. As long as the origin of life is powerful enough, making an eighty-year-old woman return to her youth is a breeze, so the ailments you mentioned should be fine too."
Upon hearing this, Helen Cho instantly looked as if she had discovered a new continent, her entire body so excited she could hardly contain herself.
Clasping her hands tightly, a fanatical light flashing in her eyes, she spoke endlessly:
"Can you let me study it? As long as it succeeds, humanity will never need to be plagued by these diseases again, and won't even be limited by lifespan."
"By then, I'll be the trans-era leader of modern medicine, my name will be left in all medical textbooks, and I'll become an everlasting legend in the medical world!"
Watching her extreme excitement, Lu Xi merely smiled without a word.
Seeing that Lu Xi did not respond, Helen Cho was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.
With a turn of her eyes, she suddenly put on a spoiled expression, gently hugged Lu Xi's arm, shook it from side to side, and said in a soft, sweet voice:
"I'm begging you, please. This is a major event that can change the destiny of all mankind, so just say yes."
Lu Xi smiled and asked:
"Let me ask you first, how do you want to study this?"
Helen Cho thought briefly, then eagerly gave her answer:
"First, I'll give you a comprehensive checkup. Blood tests, urine tests, and genetic testing are essential, and ideally tissue biopsy sampling..."
Hearing this, Lu Xi quickly raised a hand to stop her:
"Hold on, hold on, I can't do that. You can forget about it."
Helen Cho looked bewildered and hurriedly asked:
"Why? Will this cause you any harm?"
Lu Xi shook his head and explained, "Harm probably won't happen, but haven't you ever watched sci-fi movies?"
"In those plots, once samples like a powerhouse's blood are taken away for analysis, nothing good usually comes of it afterward. Take the Abomination that appeared recently—wasn't he born precisely because he was injected with Hulk's blood?"
Yet Helen Cho remained persistent, her eyes full of anticipation as she said:
"I can be careful, and I absolutely guarantee I won't leak the samples and data!"
"Besides, aren't you curious about what your own structure is actually like? Who knows, through research, you might even gain a whole new understanding of yourself."
This remark did remind Lu Xi of something; he had indeed never conducted biological-level research on himself.
Even so, he firmly shook his head:
"Even if I want to study myself, that kind of thing can only be left for my own people to handle."
Hearing this, Helen Cho's eyes darted around, her gaze landing on Lu Xi's handsome face.
She lightly pursed her lips, as if having made up her mind.
Suddenly, she pulled Lu Xi toward the nearby sofa, gently pressing him down to sit.
Lu Xi looked astonished, asking with a half-smile: "What are you doing?"
Helen Cho's gaze grew increasingly bewitching:
"Then let's become our own people, and wouldn't that solve it!"
She slowly tied up her hair, exposing her slender neck.
Then, mustering a sudden burst of energy, she directly lunged at Lu Xi, wrapped her arms tightly around him, and unhesitatingly pressed her lips to his.
In the Hell Dimension, inside Mephisto's domain, a gigantic conference table stood in the center.
As the lord of this realm, Mephisto sat right in the middle.
Surrounding him were a crowd of demon gods, every single one of them a renowned and genuine Skyfather-level powerhouse.
Chthon, Cyttorak, Baphomet, Beelzebub, Satannish...
Every last one of them had carved out a domain of their own within the Hell Dimension, becoming fearsome lords.
Among them, the two heavyweights Chthon and Cyttorak possessed even more extraordinary strength.
Their true bodies had long since transcended the realms of the Skyfather-level and Universal-level, reaching the terrifying tier of the Multiversal-level.
In almost every parallel universe, traces of their dark magic remained.
However, their actual true forms were not in this universe, and the ones sitting here at this moment were merely their avatar duplicates.
Normally, these demon gods schemed against one another and fought endlessly, their relationships intricately complex.
Mephisto had expended a tremendous amount of effort this time to finally gather these fellows in one place.
Chthon took the lead in breaking the silence, his voice seeming to come from an endless dark abyss with a hint of impatience:
"Whatever the matter is, spit it out quickly. Don't waste time."
Mephisto didn't beat around the bush either, stating bluntly:
"Lucifer's true form has already entered Earth!"
As soon as these words were spoken, it was like a heavy bomb dropped into a calm lake, instantly stirring up a thousand ripples.
"What, how is that possible? How did he pull that off?"
"Are you lying to us? The aura of a lord still exists within his domain!"
Earth, a treasured blessed land harboring a massive amount of high-quality souls, had always been an object of covetousness for these demon gods.
Yet, with the Ancient One as the Sorcerer Supreme guarding Earth, wanting to enter was simply as difficult as ascending to heaven.
Even if some demon god managed to painstakingly find a sliver of opportunity and attempted to descend in their true form onto Earth, they were bound to be undermined in secret by other demon gods. Kept in mutual check by one another, no one could easily succeed.
Over time, a subtle and eerie balance had formed among these demon gods.
Looking at the group, Mephisto raised his voice and said:
"I'm not lying this time. Don't just sense Hell—go sense Earth yourselves and see if there is another Lucifer's aura over there!"
The demon gods closed their eyes one after another, their formidable spiritual power surging toward the direction of Earth.
A moment later, Chthon opened his eyes first, a hint of surprise in his tone:
"Indeed! How did he manage it?"
Cyttorak followed up closely:
"No, the one on Earth seems to have come from another parallel universe."
Upon this declaration, the demon gods instantly boiled over, arguing back and forth in a cacophony of voices.
Seeing this, Mephisto shouted:
"Everyone, the reason you were all unwilling to join forces to attack Earth in the past was because none of you wanted to let the other guy get a head start and reap the biggest reward."
"But now, this tacit understanding has been broken. Someone has seized the lead and entered ahead of time—why don't we unite to attack Earth, kill the Ancient One, and divide the souls!"
Hearing this, glimmers of greed flashed across the eyes of the demon gods.
"Agreed."
"Acceptable."
"Let's do it!"
At this point, however, Cyttorak raised a crucial question:
"There's a problem, though: who leads the vanguard?"
As soon as he said this, the previously lively scene instantly quieted down.
As everyone knew, the ones rushing in the very front were most likely to become cannon fodder.
Furthermore, this was a dimensional survival battle of the Skyfather-level; once things got serious, the possibility of fighting for one's life was extremely high.
Therefore, this position of vanguard might very well result in sustaining grievous injuries leading to a long slumber, or even perishing outright.
Seeing the demons silent, a cunning glint flashed across Mephisto's face as he slowly spoke:
"I have a plan. Since the Lucifer of the parallel world plays dirty, the Lucifer of our universe cannot stay out of it either!"
"Why don't we collectively go to his domain and make him our vanguard to clear the way? If he dares to refuse, we'll wipe him out first and divide his territory!"
Upon hearing this, looks of approval appeared on their faces one after another.
They didn't care who the vanguard was, as long as it wasn't themselves.
Adhering to the principle of "let other Daoists die rather than myself," this decision seemed fitting indeed.
