Gringotts, Run by Goblins
"Quirrell!" Lester muttered Quirrell's name under his breath, already planning how to deal with him. However, all of that had to wait until after the procurement was completed. The most urgent task now was to go to Diagon Alley to make the purchases.
Finally, after Harry was forced to work for several tens of minutes, the enthusiastic wizards returned to their places, Hagrid finally had the opportunity to take Harry's hand in one hand and Lester's in the other, and walk towards Diagon Alley.
Soon, a wall appeared in front of the three of them, Hagrid was counting the bricks on top of the trash cans.
"Count three pieces up—then two pieces across—" he muttered softly, "Alright, stand back, children."
As he spoke, Hagrid tapped the wall three times lightly with the end of his umbrella.
As Hagrid struck the brick, it trembled and began to move, creating a small hole in the middle that gradually widened. Soon, a wide archway appeared before them, large enough for Hagrid to pass through, leading to a winding, seemingly endless cobblestone street.
Although Lester had visited Diagon Alley many times, he was still amazed Diagon Alley its vibrancy upon his return.
Unlike when he came before, Diagon Alley is now filled with Muggle, often families of three, who find everything around them incredibly novel.
With only a few weeks left before the start of the school year, most Muggle families are preparing to take their kids to Diagon Alley for some shopping.
"Look at Lester, there are quite a few people here just like us, from the Muggle world!" Harry exclaimed excitedly, pointing to the Muggle families and their children on the streets of Diagon Alley. "I thought most of the students at Hogwarts Lester from the Wizarding World."
"In fact, there are far more Muggle-born than Pure-blood wizard in the Wizarding World right now," Lester explained. "And not only now, but the number of Muggle-born will only increase in the future."
"So that means there will be more and more wizards?" Harry said. "That's a good thing, isn't it?"
Lester at the innocent Harry, but said nothing.
A large population is certainly a good thing, but in the Wizarding World, where there is class conflict and uneven distribution of resources, it is definitely the beginning of war.
If it weren't for the increase in Muggle-born, who took over the resources that originally belonged to Pure-blood families, there probably wouldn't have been a war, and Harry's parents wouldn't have died.
Of course, Lester couldn't tell Harry these things, so he changed the subject, asking, "Hagrid, where are we going now?"
"Gringotts, the safest place in the entire Wizarding World besides Hogwarts!" Hagrid said. "We need to go to Gringotts to get some money first."
"Withdraw money?" Harry was puzzled. He had lived with his Muggle uncle and aunt since he could remember and had never been to the Wizarding World. How could he possibly have a bank account in Gringotts?
"Harry, this is the legacy your parents left you," Hagrid said, noticing Harry's confusion. "Your father came from a very wealthy Pure-blood families."
"Believe me, your current wealth is far beyond your imagination," Hagrid said, winking playfully at Harry.
Harry was a little confused, but he soon had no time to think about it anymore, because they had arrived at Gringotts.
With its luxurious facade and imposing entrance, Lester could even glimpse the opulent interior through Gringotts' open doors.
"That's a Goblin, the ruler of Gringotts," Hagrid told Harry as they walked along the white tiles toward the Goblin.
As Lester approached the gate, he saw the warning sign on it.
"Please come in, stranger, but beware of insatiable greed..."
At that moment, Hagrid opportunely remarked, "Like I said, if you're thinking of robbing this bank, you're insane."
Hearing Hagrid's words, Lester remained noncommittal but didn't say anything.
If a powerful dark wizard were to actually rob Gringotts Bank, those pathetic Goblin would be no match for the robbers.
Just like Quirrell possessed by Voldemort, wouldn't he just rob a bank whenever he wanted?
As soon as the three entered, two Goblin warmly greeted them and led them into a large hall paved with marble.
"Hello," Hagrid said to a Goblin standing behind the counter. "We want to take some money from the Potter Family's vault."
"Withdraw money?" The Goblin's face darkened, but she still asked, "Do you have his key, sir?"
It is common knowledge that the thing banks dislike most about depositors is withdrawing money. Small depositors are one thing, but large depositors withdrawing money will definitely affect the bank's investment and operations.
Of course, the Goblin's reluctance to let Hagrid collect the money might simply stem from his desire to prevent Galleon from leaving Gringotts.
After confirming that everything was correct, the Goblin allowed them to enter.
Led by a Goblin named Griphook, Lester and his two Goblin boarded a small cart. As soon as they sat down, Griphook whistled, and the cart immediately began speeding along the railway tracks.
The icy air howled past, stinging Lester's eyes, but he still tried his best to keep them wide open, not for any other reason than that he had a premonition that he would definitely return to this place someday.
Of course, I'm not returning to this place as a depositor...
"These Goblin have terrible service," Lester muttered, feeling the biting wind whipping against his face.
If it weren't for the factions within the wizarding world, none of which wanted to see members of another faction in charge of the bank, and the compromise of choosing the Goblin to manage it, there wouldn't be any Goblin involved.
