Give Voldemort Something to Do
"Hagrid, I want this!"
Inside the Owl Shop, little Harry was staring intently at the silvery-white snowy owl on the shelf, his eyes shining. The little snowy owl was also tilting its head and looking at Harry. The two little idiots were practically eyeing each other in mid-air, like turtles looking at green beans, their eyes meeting.
Seeing this, the shop owner immediately came over and said to Harry with great seriousness, "Goodness, this snowy owl is our shop's prized possession. Not only is it beautiful and fast, but it's also said to have some Fantastic Beasts blood."
The shopkeeper noticed Hagrid and Harry when they were standing at the door.
Harry didn't know him yet, because Harry had been living with his Muggle uncle and aunt, so most wizards only knew the Chosen One's name, but knew very little about what the Chosen One looked like.
But the owner of the Owl Shop was no stranger to Hagrid, this big dog owner.
"So, kid, how about one?" The owl owner grinned slyly, slowly enticing Harry to buy the snowy owl.
Actually, he had no choice but to do this. It wasn't that the snowy owl was bad, but rather that it was so good that its price was too high. In the past few days, many people hadn't asked him about the snowy owl, but as soon as they heard the price, they all deflated.
After all, a wand only costs 7 Galleon with the Ministry of Magic's subsidy, but this snowy owl is asking for 10 Galleon, so it's very difficult to find a buyer for it.
Those without money can't afford it, and those with money already have pets at home. Helplessly, this snowy owl can only remain in the owner's hands.
"Hagrid, may I have this owl?" Hearing the shopkeeper's words, Harry turned around and looked at Hagrid expectantly, his big emerald green eyes blinking.
"Of course, Harry!" Faced with the expectant eyes of the Chosen One, how could Hagrid say no? He simply waved his hand, not even bothering to haggle, and pulled out 10 Galleon from his tattered pocket to buy the snowy owl.
"Thank you, Hagrid!" Harry's eyes flashed with excitement, and he immediately took the owl from the shopkeeper and looked at the snowy owl inside.
Actually, he chose this snowy owl not only because it was beautiful, but mainly because Harry saw the snowy owl's longing for freedom, and that look in its eyes reminded him of himself when he was imprisoned by his uncle.
After buying the owl, Harry knew that his magical and wonderful trip was finally coming to an end. Fortunately, in another month, he would be able to go to Hogwarts and see Lester and Hagrid again.
At the Leaky Cauldron, Lester and Harry were gazing at each other with affection, Harry turning back every few steps to look at Lester.
Lester had witnessed far too many partings. All good things must come to an end, so parting with Hagrid and Harry after shopping was inevitable. Besides, it wasn't a matter of life and death; wouldn't they meet again at Hogwarts in a month?
But that's what Lester thought. For young Harry, however, today was the happiest day of his life. On this day, he not only met Hagrid, who took good care of him like an older brother, but also made his first friend of the same age, Lester.
So, being so young, he naturally didn't want the banquet to end; in Harry's view, good friends should stay together forever.
After seeing Harry and Hagrid off, Lester yawned and prepared to return to the Guild to rest for a while. Then, he saw an incredibly sinister gaze from the corner of the bar.
"Quirrell?" Lester was startled. He hadn't expected that not only had he watched Harry leave, but Professor Quirrell in the pub had also been watching Harry the whole time.
After giving Quirrell a nonchalant glance, Lester's mind began to race.
If you were to ask who in the Wizarding World Dark Lord Voldemort the most right now, the first person would definitely be Dumbledore. This is because the headmaster is currently at the pinnacle of power and prestige in the Wizarding World. In other words, Dumbledore can do whatever he wants in the Wizarding World, and no one can refute him.
If Voldemort were to rise from the dead and cause trouble, it would inevitably affect the headmaster's power. Most importantly, it would lead to widespread suffering and death throughout the Wizarding World, which is exactly what Dumbledore least wants to see.
Like Dumbledore, Lester also least wanted to see the Wizarding World plunged into chaos and destruction.
Despite his tolerance of prisoners causing chaos at the Ministry of Magic and even setting Ministry of Magic to it, he was definitely on the side of the British Wizarding World.
Unless it comes to a life-or-death struggle between factions, the three factions in the Wizarding World Wizarding World, including Lester, are not willing to engage in factional warfare at the cost of widespread death and destruction.
Because they knew that the world wasn't just Britain's Wizarding World; there were quite a few Ministry of Magic and governments in the European Continent, England's neighbors.
If their internal factional struggles deplete their strength, even if their faction wins, they will ultimately lose.
Take, for example, France, the long-time enemy of England. The two countries fought from the Hundred Years' War in the Middle Ages all the way to World War First World War before being forced to make peace with their powerful foe.
However, the recent friendly relations between France and England are a matter for the Muggle World. Moreover, unlike the Pure-blood families in power in the Wizarding World, the political system in the Muggle World has long since changed. In other words, although they are sworn enemies, their governments do not have conflicts. Therefore, there is still a possibility for them to reconcile.
However, the Wizarding World of the two countries are quite different. Thanks to the wonders of magic, the lineage of Pure-blood wizard families has never been broken. In other words, the Pure-blood families -Pure-blood families in the magical Wizarding World of England and French Wizarding World have always been at odds.
Just like when Grindelwald caused havoc in Paris, did the England Wizarding World send anyone? Dumbledore unofficially sent Newt Scamander, and then the Ministry of Magic sent an Auror as a token gesture.
Similarly, when Voldemort wreaked havoc in the England Wizarding World, no France wizards came to his aid, which shows that there were considerable conflicts within the international Wizarding World.
Therefore, Lester absolutely could not stand idly by and watch Voldemort and his Death Eaters slaughter innocent people throughout the Wizarding World. Those were all resources under Lester's control; if Voldemort wiped them all out, what would be the point of him controlling the Wizarding World? Just a commander without an army?
"No, absolutely not!" Lester's face darkened at the thought of the horrible things Voldemort had done after his resurrection.
If Voldemort were allowed to run rampant, the British Wizarding World would be set back at least 20 years, so he had to deal with Voldemort.
Lester gave Quirrell a sinister look and muttered ominously, "It's time to find something for my Vogel to do."
