Advertising the Rocket Crossbow
Inside the Headmaster's Office in Azkaban.
"Lord Lai, the shops in Diagon Alley are all renovated." Sang Biao asked respectfully, "When would you like to open for business?"
"No rush!" Lester took a sip of his coffee and said casually, "Before we open for business, I plan to give the Rocket Crossbow a shout-out."
"Advertisement?" Sang Biao looked puzzled. Sang Biao, who only knew how to use the Killing Curse to smash other people's heads, found it hard to understand such a high-level business concept as advertising.
Lester looked disgusted, waved his hand, and said, "Alright, I can't explain it to you. Go and call Leona and Brian over."
Leona, that sleazy old man, is the most Lunyu speaker of all in Azkaban besides himself!
Brian, a former Quidditch superstar, is now the captain of the Azkaban Quidditch Prison Team and the professor of the Thievery.
Lester believes that if you were to look for a smart person in all of Azkaban right now, it would be Leona.
A few minutes later, Leona and Brian arrived at the Headmaster's Office, and Lester told them about his plan to run an advertisement.
"Advertisement?" Leona was puzzled for a moment, then immediately exclaimed excitedly, "Lord Lai is amazing! I think advertising is absolutely necessary!"
"Our Rocket Crossbow are the best in the entire Wizarding World, but nobody knows about them, and nobody will buy them."
"Therefore, we need to run an advertisement to let everyone know about the performance of our Rocket Crossbow."
Brian was also delighted. Advertising Rocket Crossbow crossbows, those flying broomsticks, and even inviting him—wasn't that just giving him screen time?
That would be awesome! To become a big star and advertise for flying broomsticks is practically every Quidditch player's lifelong dream.
"Lord Lai, I'd love to be in your commercial!" Brian exclaimed excitedly.
Lester gave Brian a strange look, and asked again, still unsure, "Are you really willing?"
"Real!"
"I'll ask you one last time, are you really willing? Answer carefully, this time you can't back out!"
"Yes, Lord Lai, I, Brian, am willing, even a hundred times!"
Brian shouted, "It's just an ad for a flying broomstick! Why wouldn't I want such a good thing!"
Seriously, Lord Lai, it's just a commercial shoot, and he talks like he's risking his life as a suicide squad member. Why ask so many times?
"Great!" Lester clapped his hands excitedly, took out two A4 sheets of paper that he had prepared beforehand, and handed them to Brian and Leona.
"This is the advertising script I've prepared for you. Leona, you're the director in charge of planning, and you, Brian, are the only male lead in the ad. Do your best!"
"Thank you, Lord Lai!" Brian was extremely excited, his eyes shining with a powerful light. He, Brian, the former Quidditch prodigy, was about to return to the public eye.
Brian had always been aware of just how powerful Lord Lai's Azkaban Syndicate was in the Wizarding World; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they were all-powerful.
If a big shot like this were to personally film an advertisement, even a pile of shit could become a sensation throughout the entire Wizarding World.
Besides, how could an ad directed by Lord Lai be a pile of shit? It's definitely a masterpiece among masterpieces.
Brian, filled with excitement, began to peruse the advertisement featuring Lester. A few minutes later, Brian's expression froze.
"What's wrong, Brian? Do you have any suggestions about the content of the advertisement?" Lester asked with a smile.
Brian: "..."
Looking at the smiling Lester, Brian forcibly swallowed the complaint that was about to come out, but his expression was still as if his mother had just died.
"Lord Lai, are you really planning to have Sang Biao and his gang chase me down on flying broomsticks, and then I'll lead them on a loop around the entire Diagon Alley?"
Brian could hardly believe his eyes; Lester's advertisement was completely different from the one he had believed in.
Other advertisements are staged after the venue is set up, but Lord Lai's advertisement is actually filmed live!
If it were just his own people like Sang Biao chasing him, that would be one thing, but the advertisement even includes the involvement of an unknown dark wizard.
The advertisement was simple and blunt.
As the protagonist, Brian's task is quite simple: just go to the Fawley Family's ancestral home in Knockturn Alley, cast a few Blasting Curse at their ancestral home, and then curse the Fawley Family's ancestors for eighteen generations.
The Fawley Family will be furious and send men to hunt down Brian, Brian will simply need to ride his flying broomstick and escape.
"Of course, don't worry, Sang Biao and the others will protect you!" Lester reassured him. "Besides, think about it, only real footage can showcase the power of our Rocket Crossbow and provide a comparison with trash brooms like the Nimbus 2000."
Lester knew he couldn't just put pressure on Brian; he also needed to give him some benefits.
"You should be thrilled to be the main character. I'll get all the editors-in-chief from the entire Wizarding World here to take your picture."
"Your heroic figure as you dodge the Killing Curse... ugh... those insignificant, non-life-threatening little spells will also be faithfully recorded by the camera."
"Let me tell you something, I've already taken care of ten of the most popular newspapers in the Wizarding World, Daily Prophet. As long as you perform well, for a whole month, the newspapers will be full of your heroic feats of dodging spells!"
"So, do you dare to say a word?"
"Lord Lai, no need to say more, I'll do it!" Brian exclaimed excitedly, his face flushed. "A true man should not live a life of subservience under the heavens and earth!"
"I, Brian, will go practice my flying skills right now. I'll definitely give Lord Lai a good performance and won't let you down!"
After saying that, Brian picked up his Rocket Crossbow and strode away triumphantly.
After Brian left, the sleazy old man Leona finally spoke up, "Lord Lai, can that kid Brian handle being ripped off like this?"
Unlike Brian's A4 paper, the sleazy old man, being the director, naturally had a few more lines of text on his A4 paper.
For example, spreading rumors that Brian was actually the fake drug dealer.
Slap a few pure-blood dark wizard family patriarchs, take nude photos of them, and then use Brian's name to threaten them.
They even specially brought in a group of radical wizards from the Soviet Union who rode on large trees, to tell them that Brian was actually Dumbledore's lackey and that Brian was the one who spread inferior Potions in the Soviet Union.
At that point, it's estimated that most of the Wizarding World will send people to hunt down poor Brian. Can this Quidditch star really withstand it?
"Don't worry!" Lester patted the sleazy old man Leona on the shoulder and said calmly, "Brian is a lucky kid, he'll definitely be fine."
"And I'll be going with him, so his life will be absolutely safe!"
"That's settled then. You take charge of the arrangements. I want to see the ad filming start three days from now, on Saturday, during the busiest time in Diagon Alley!"
