Mr. Fudge Among the People
These past few days, Director Crouch has been enjoying immense prestige.
The reclusive Headmaster Dumbledore decided a few days ago to step in and support me.
Now, Wizengamot has become Crouch's personal fiefdom, and almost all of the Wizengamot commissioners support Crouch.
Furthermore, the heads of various departments within the Ministry of Magic, who had previously mostly been subservient to Fudge, returned to a wait-and-see attitude after Dumbledore's arrival.
Inside the Department of Ministry of Magic Law office, Mr. Crouch, beaming with confidence, held Dumbledore's letter of support. "Fudge, not even one of the 28 Holy Families, what right does he have to compete with me!"
"Winky!" Mr. Crouch snapped his fingers, summoning a House-elf.
"Go tell Albus the Crouch Family will always remember your help. Go!"
After Winky left, Mr. Crouch lay back down in his office chair, already imagining the glory of becoming minister.
Meanwhile, Mr. Crouch's rival, Fudge, also quietly arrived at Knockturn Alley.
Today is the final of the Quidditch Cup Knockturn Alley, and Mr. Cornelius Fudge, the Department of Magical Accidents at the Ministry of Magic, has come uninvited as a spectator.
This time, he didn't put on any airs of a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Ministry of Magic. He was alone, wearing a patched suit, and was all smiles and gentlemanly manners. If you didn't look closely, you wouldn't know that he was a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic.
Fudge stood amidst the enthusiastic crowd, silently thinking to himself, "What does it mean that Lord Lai invited me to watch the game and then lets him do whatever he wants afterwards?"
Fudge quickly understood.
Today is Saturday, Bide Rocket Crossbow Superfactory is closed for the holiday. All the workers have brought their families to watch the free football match.
The huge stadium was packed to the brim with local residents of Knockturn Alley and Quidditch enthusiasts from out of town, all gathered together.
Fudge was like a small boat on the Great Sea, attracting no attention whatsoever.
The game was halfway through, and as usual, a halftime break was held. At this moment, a large screen flew into the sky under the influence of magic.
Then, the screen flashed, and a lucky little wizard appeared on the screen with a completely bewildered look on his face.
Beside him were his parents, dressed in Bide factory uniforms, smiling and waving at the screen.
That's right, this is Lester copying the Muggle World method, where they interact with the audience in the locker room during halftime.
Just then, Fudge, who looked quite ordinary, appeared on the screen wearing a patched suit and a black top hat.
Fudge: "..."
The moment Fudge's image appeared on the screen, many people were stunned, feeling that he looked somewhat familiar.
As a politician, Fudge naturally knew what to do. He didn't act out of line; like the family of three before, he smiled and waved to the camera, just like an ordinary neighbor.
Someone immediately recognized Fudge.
"Good heavens, is that Mr. Fudge from the Ministry of Magic? What's he doing here?"
"Such an important figure shouldn't look down on such an unprofessional competition. Why did he come back!"
"Mr. Fudge is dressed so simply; he's a completely different person from those arrogant idiots in the Ministry of Magic."
With just one image, everyone in the Quidditch Pitch knew that Mr. Fudge from the Ministry of Magic had actually come to watch the game, and he was dressed casually, even with patches on his clothes, sitting with these ordinary wizards, watching the game together.
The wizards around Fudge gathered around Fudge, greeting him and welcoming his arrival.
Fudge was also very approachable and welcoming to everyone, even those who insulted him. He responded with a smile and assured them that he would thoroughly investigate the corruption within the Ministry of Ministry of Magic's Department of Law and would not let any criminal go unpunished.
Finally, Fudge even picked up a five- or six-year-old wizard and smiled as he took a photo with him.
The next day, the Daily Prophet's headline immediately changed from, "Headmaster Dumbledore says Barty Crouch is a trustworthy man," to "Mr. Fudge among the people."
The photo of Fudge holding his child and smiling took up half the page, and anyone who saw it would think he was a kind middle-aged man.
That wasn't the end of it. The very next day, Fudge's story of helping a struggling wizarding family in Knockturn Alley once again made the headlines of the Daily Prophet.
In the photo, Fudge is holding the hand of a dirty little wizard and says gently, "Don't worry, kid, Uncle Fudge will definitely get you into school. Let's pinky swear!"
The child smiled innocently, reached out his little hand, and took Fudge's hand.
Finally, Fudge even visited the Bide Superfactory to investigate the workers' living conditions and working conditions. Whenever he encountered unfair or unreasonable situations, Fudge would always do his best to help!
In just one week, Fudge's popularity among the people skyrocketed. Every ordinary wizard wanted a good wizard like Fudge to become the Minister of Ministry of Magic!
Hafiz, a renowned powerful figure in the Wizarding World, even spoke out directly in the Daily Prophet:
"We should all learn from his selfless spirit. Starting from this point, we can become people who greatly benefit the people. A person's ability may vary, but as long as they have this spirit, they are a noble person, a pure person, a moral person, a person who has transcended vulgar interests, and a person who is beneficial to the people."
"We should learn from Mr. Fudge and become someone who benefits the Wizarding World!"
Brian, a well-known star player in the Wizarding World, even said in a post-match interview:
"You all say I saved Hogwarts and that I'm a hero, but I want to say that I merely saved a school from destruction by the Soviet Union."
"But Mr. Fudge, he is saving the entire Wizarding World, saving all the lost wizards in the Wizarding World. He is the real hero!"
Knockturn Alley became the birthplace of Fudge; as soon as you enter Knockturn Alley, you can see slogans supporting Fudge.
[Mr. Fudge came from the people and went back to the people; only then did he truly understand what we lacked!]
Only Mr. Fudge can lead us to a good life, while some idiots only cause trouble!
A true hero never needs to care about the opinions of others.
Below is a photo of Fudge, dressed in a worn-out suit, visiting the Bide factory. Every worker warmly welcomes Fudge's arrival.
Inside the factory, almost all the workers became Fudge's supporters because Fudge did indeed care about their Muggle-born lives.
Moreover, the factory manager also explicitly supports Fudge.
Everyone was very grateful to the Bide factory for finding such a good job, and since Fudge did a really good job, the workers and their families all became Fudge's voters.
