The prisoners looted quickly. Before long, every prisoner who had made a hefty haul stood eagerly behind Lester, their excited eyes constantly drifting toward the elevators.
They had already earned so many Galleons from robbing just a few hundred people. If they robbed every department in the Ministry of Magic, wouldn't they be rich?
Sensing the prisoners' excitement, Lester did not hesitate. He raised his wand high, aimed it at the Ministry's emergency passageways, and roared, "Charge down there! Kill all these damned Pure-bloods!"
The prisoners had already seen blood. How could they withstand such provocation? The moment Lester finished speaking, they gripped their wands and charged downstairs like madmen.
As the Wizarding World's sole government, the Ministry of Magic naturally could not rely on a few magical elevators for transportation. There were also numerous emergency passageways on either side of the elevators, leading to the other underground departments.
If they used Apparition, the magical fluctuations it created would inevitably draw the Ministry officials' attention. They might be hit from all directions by Disarming Charms the instant they arrived.
So, the prisoners chose the most primitive method: attacking the Ministry of Magic on foot!
Before long, they swiftly reached the Ministry's second underground level, home to the Department of Magical Games and Sports.
At the end of the emergency passageway stood a thick iron door. A magical chain hung from it, and it was clear that no one could pass through without the password.
Rather than feeling helpless at the sight of the seemingly indestructible iron door, the prisoners all wore disdainful smiles.
Several Azkaban prisoners at the front immediately raised their wands and fired several vicious Blasting Curses at the iron door.
"Bombarda!"
Amid several shrill incantations, orange fireball-like flames shot from their wands and hurtled toward the iron door.
Boom!
With a thunderous explosion, the incomparably heavy iron door was blasted straight off its hinges under the barrage of powerful Dark magic.
Inside the Department of Magical Games and Sports, the Pure-bloods had been idly chatting about domestic trivia, living their usual lives of tea-drinking and newspaper-reading, when they saw a massive iron door flying toward them.
The charging iron door sent two Pure-blood Ministry officials flying from their desks. They crashed heavily into the wall, their heads lolling to one side as they passed out.
The other Pure-blood Ministry officials stared at the horrifying sight before them in a panic, unable to make sense of what was happening.
They had come to work at the Ministry of Magic to drink tea and read newspapers. Besides, the Department of Magical Games and Sports had always been a quiet, unimportant office. Other than major sporting events, there was usually nothing to do.
As a result, when faced with the charging prisoners outside, these magical officials did not even know how to fight back.
Unfortunately for them, while they were at a loss, the prisoners had come prepared.
"Avada Gnaw-the-Melon!"
The moment the heavy iron door was blasted open, the prisoners outside rushed in impatiently. They raised their wands without even looking and fired Killing Curses at the officials in the office.
The prisoners who lagged a step behind were equally unwilling to be outdone. They copied the others with convincing flair, raising their wands and firing Killing Curses regardless of whether anyone stood in front of them.
For a time, the entire Department of Magical Games and Sports rang with cries of agony. Many unfortunate Pure-blood officials failed to survive the first wave of Killing Curses and were instantly robbed of their lives.
The Killing Curses that missed their targets slammed into the department's furniture instead.
Quite a few long benches were blown over by the Killing Curses, while the papers on them scattered everywhere across the floor.
"Avada Gnaw-the-Melon!!!"
Some prisoners, who had already been mentally unstable to begin with, had now become Killing Curse machines. Whether there were Ministry officials in front of them or not, they kept firing Avada Kedavra into the air.
In an instant, the entire Department of Magical Games and Sports became a battlefield. Spells of every color flew through the air, especially the green Killing Curses, which nearly dyed the entire two-hundred-square-meter department green.
[Ding! Obtained Jesse's Fear Points +56] [Ding! Obtained Mike's Fear Points +64] [Ding! Obtained Ludo Bagman's Fear Points +100]
Lester had long since entered an invisible state. He stood quietly behind the prisoners, watching the farce unfold before him.
Where there was oppression, there was resistance.
These Pure-bloods had lorded it over Muggle-borns for so many years that they had already planted deep seeds of danger beneath their rule.
Now, at last, the resentment accumulated over the years erupted under Lester's guidance.
So Lester felt no pity for these Pure-blood wizards being killed by the prisoners. They had brought it upon themselves. They had no one else to blame!
I'm almost at one million Fear Points. Lester listened expressionlessly to the constant screams and pleas for mercy beside him, wondering what good things the one-million-Fear-Points draw might yield.
While Lester contemplated this, the other prisoners reveled, and the Pure-blood Ministry officials begged for mercy, a fat figure desperately tried to squeeze beneath a desk in the corner, hoping to save his own life.
Having finally crammed his obese body beneath the narrow desk, Ludo Bagman trembled as he wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and watched the massacre before him in terror.
As the head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports, Ludo should have stepped forward to organize resistance. But when he saw the green glow of Killing Curses that had never stopped flashing through the office since the beginning, he cowardly backed down.
I'm the head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. I'm not staying hidden because I'm afraid of dying. I'm preserving myself so that I can report this to the Ministry after they leave.
With that thought, Ludo felt much better. He was not a coward. Going out now would only mean death. He might as well preserve himself and serve the Ministry later.
Suddenly, Ludo, who was still consoling himself, brightened. A prisoner in a gray prison uniform had fallen directly in front of him.
Clearly, even without him leading the resistance, not every Ministry official was useless.
Born into Pure-blood aristocratic families, they possessed considerable combat ability as well. After being caught off guard at the start, the surviving Pure-blood Ministry officials swiftly formed a counterattack formation and struck back at the prisoners with ancestral magic passed down through their families.
At once, quite a few careless prisoners lost their lives beneath the attacks of that inherited magic.
Just as the battle seemed about to turn, Lester, standing behind the prisoners, finally made his move.
Inside the office, the prisoners arrogantly raised their wands and traded fire with the Pure-blood Ministry officials opposite them. Green Killing Curses shot from their wands as though they cost nothing.
On the other side, the few organized Ministry officials hid behind sturdy cover, occasionally sticking out their wands to unleash terrifying inherited Dark magic at the prisoners.
Although the prisoners had overwhelming numbers, the Pure-bloods' methods of attack were simply too unexpected.
For a time, the two sides were locked in a stalemate inside the office.
One day, I'll build a proper army of my own. Watching the prisoners, who did not even bother looking for cover and simply stood where they were firing Avada Kedavra again and again, Lester felt a headache coming on.
Did they think they were spell turrets? They could not even be bothered to move, just standing there and fighting the enemy. Did they think everyone on the other side was an idiot?
With no other choice, Lester stepped in.
"Fire Shield Charm!" Lester slowly raised his right hand as he looked at the Pure-blood officials hiding behind cover and occasionally launching vicious Dark magic. Then he fiercely slapped toward them.
In an instant, Lester's level-two Fire Shield Charm activated. A blue Fiendfyre Palm appeared out of thin air above the Pure-blood wizards' position and slammed down with lightning speed.
