Dazzling bursts of fire erupted across what remained of the Blood Giant's body.

High-explosive shells from the Type 1130 Close-In Defense Cannon were hammering it.

In the blink of an eye, it was riddled with holes. Countless fragments of stone and flesh-like matter flew in every direction.

Braving the heat and radiation left by the ultimate weapons' detonations, Gao Jing emptied three entire magazines into the Blood Giant without stopping, firing until the cannon barrels glowed red!

Just as he thought the battle was about to end, the Blood Giant's ravaged body suddenly began to change.

Streams of black smoke threaded with blood rose from the dense wounds covering its body.

The smoke took the shape of twisted, tormented faces. Their mouths gaped in shrill wails as they struggled to break free of the Blood Giant, but an invisible force bound them fast. No matter how they fought, they could not escape.

Even from several thousand meters away, concealed within the War God Armor, Gao Jing could feel their resentment surging toward the sky!

A blood sacrifice!

The sight immediately brought the thought to Gao Jing's mind.

Blood Moon Abyss City had once been far larger than the Blood Giant was now. It had held many buildings, and surely no small number of Abyssfolk had lived within it.

So where had those Abyssfolk gone? Where were the Blood Moon Warriors and the wizards?

Gao Jing's instincts told him that the one controlling Blood Moon Abyss City had sacrificed them all.
