Appearance

The Copper Anchor is an infant-palm-sized bronze anchor of exceptional craftsmanship. Its shank is formed by a flood dragon or wyrm-serpent biting the circular shackle above it; its individual neck scales include Silver Scales that act as visible indicators of stored travel capacity. 1 3

History

Gao Jing found the Anchor embedded in his motorcycle tire on a mountain road and pulled it free after the resulting blowout. He initially treated it as an unusual piece of metal, but soon felt an instinctive flesh-and-blood connection to it. 1 3

While holding it in his rented room, Gao Jing was transported to the Great World and returned at will. A chair and debris that traveled with him confirmed that the other world was real. He concealed the Anchor on a necklace and resolved never to reveal it to anyone. 3

Its early use revealed a cost: Silver Scales turned bronze as its interworld travel capacity was consumed. The Anchor later saved Gao Jing after the crimson giant serpent’s blood nearly killed him, leaving its Faith reserve severely depleted. 6 12

During Gao Jing’s Hui Serpent Beast Soul fusion, he embedded the Anchor into the pale-gold weak point above his heart. It fused into his flesh, reinforced the vulnerability, and could thereafter be removed only when manifested through Dragon-Scale Armor. 271 272

The artifact violently resonated with Wind Hero’s Gold Rudder, which proved to be a matching component. Gao Jing later recovered the final component, the Silver Sail, completing the Anchor, Rudder, and Sail as a single divine artifact. 373 377 379

An Ancient Scroll eventually revealed that the Copper Anchor was a fragment of the Creation Ark, a colossal vessel built to cross time, space, and planar worlds while carrying billions away from world-ending calamities. The Ark was destroyed in an ancient explosion, scattering its fragments across different worlds. 592

Abilities & Functions

Interworld Travel

The Anchor allows Gao Jing to move between the Main World and the Great World. Its original travel function carried Gao Jing and objects in close physical contact with him. 3

• Travel consumes Silver Scales; prolonged stays in the Great World can consume additional capacity. 6 58
