Hermione's words made Harry hesitate.
Looking at the notebook in his hands, Harry could not understand what was so special about it.
He had read its contents. It was the diary of someone named Tom Riddle from fifty years ago. Most of the entries concerned ordinary events, though a few were rather dark.
Suddenly, Harry froze.
"Are you sure this is the notebook Ella Elton gave Ginny?" Harry asked, his expression subdued.
Hermione and Ron Weasley nodded, certain of it.
Harry frowned and leafed through the notebook, puzzled. "If this is the notebook Ella Elton gave Ginny, why does it contain the diary of someone named Tom Riddle? Where are Ella Elton's entries? Where are Ginny's?"
"She's been carrying it around every day for over half a year. Surely she must have written something?"
At Harry's words, Ron Weasley and Hermione realized the problem. Shocked, they hurriedly snatched the notebook from his hands and flipped through it.
A moment later, Ron Weasley and Hermione were both dumbfounded.
Indeed, why wasn't there a single diary entry by Ella Elton or Ginny?
"Harry, do you think we might have made a mistake? Perhaps this isn't Ginny's notebook at all," Ron Weasley said hesitantly.
"Impossible. This is the one. I remember this notebook very clearly," Hermione immediately countered.
"Then let's ask Ginny." Harry took the notebook back and turned to head for Ginny's dormitory.
"No, at least not right now." Hermione stopped Harry and said gravely, "There might be some secret hidden in this notebook."
"This is definitely the notebook Ginny carried around, but she doesn't remember anything. Magic really might be involved."
Ron Weasley frowned at Hermione's words. This concerned his sister, so he had to be cautious.
"Then why don't we go back and examine it first?" Ron Weasley looked at
