The stabbing pain deeply assaulted his nerves.
Harry lowered his head, wanting the soul-rending pain to disappear.
But at that moment, Harry found his mind filled with coolness, and the stabbing pain vanished.
Harry did not know what had happened and was somewhat stunned.
Harry looked dazed. When he raised his head again, he discovered that the figure had disappeared.
However, on the other side of the flames, even more vines ignored the roaring fire as they lunged toward him.
Harry's expression changed again.
"Flames, burn!"
Firelight surged into the sky, burning some of the incoming vines, but it could not stop the rest from attacking.
Harry Potter grew increasingly anxious.
Harry could clearly feel that after casting several spells in succession, he had very little magic left.
Just then, a blast of hot wind swept over him, and the anxious Harry suddenly understood.
"Wind, dance!"
Harry waved his wand while drawing on the little magic remaining in his body.
In an instant, a fierce wind danced around Harry, sweeping him into the air and carrying him aloft, allowing him to evade the attacking vines.
But the howling wind was like adding fuel to the fire, making the blaze even larger, while the vines became fuel for the flames.
"Harry, save me!"
On the other side, the flames had already spread to the vines binding Hermione. Combined with the poisonous smoke produced by the fire, they made Hermione dizzy, and she hurriedly called out to Harry for help.
Harry snapped out of his amazement at the wondrous Wind Element Magic. Seeing Hermione fall from the air as the burning vines loosened their grip, he was immediately startled.
"Wind, dance!"
Harry waved his wand again. A gust of wind caught the falling Hermione, then carried them away from the flames and the vines before setting them down in the spacious practice field.
The vines were eventually consumed by the raging fire.
Hermione landed with a cry of surprise, feeling that it was all incredibly wondrous.
Seeing that Hermione was unharmed, Harry breathed a sigh of relief. At the same time, his magic was exhausted, and he stumbled before falling to the ground.
Hermione hurried forward in concern and helped Harry up. Seeing how pale he was, she quickly asked, "Harry, how are you?"
"I..." Harry wanted to reply, but for a moment, he could not speak.
The feeling of having all his magic drained gave him an unprecedented sense of weakness.
"Where's Ron?" After taking a deep breath, Harry suddenly remembered Ron. He looked into the sea of raging flames, his little face turning deathly pale.
Hermione was the same when she heard that.
"What do we do? What do we do? What do we do?" Hermione was terribly anxious, and before long, her delicate eyes glistened with tears.
Harry was anxious and wanted to help, but he was too weak now, with no magic left in his body.
But soon, he saw Hermione's wand, and a light flashed in his eyes.
"Hermione, you're the only one who can save Ron now." Harry grabbed Hermione's hand and said as calmly as he could.
"How do I save him?" Hermione asked anxiously.
"Use your Water Elemental Magic to save Ron. Ron isn't within the burning area yet. You need to spread your magic over the places the flames haven't reached, or put out these flames." Harry bit his lip lightly, trying hard to calm himself as he laid out his plan.
"But I don't know how to use Water Elemental Magic." Hermione's face was pale as she spoke with some difficulty.
Hermione desperately wanted to help, but she had not yet learned any magic incantations from Katelyle.
"No, you can." Harry looked at Hermione firmly.
"I can't!" Hermione replied rapidly.
At that moment, she was terrified.
She was afraid that she would not be able to help Ron, and even more afraid that Ron would burn to death in the flames Harry had ignited.
Harry took hold of Hermione's hand holding the wand and said firmly, "Hermione, Professor Kate didn't teach me any magic incantations either, but I just cast one."
"That is a secret."
"I believe you can do it too."
Hermione looked into Harry's green eyes, and courage suddenly rose within her as she turned to face the roaring flames.
Harry released Hermione's hand, picked up his own wand, and demonstrated for her. "Repeat after me: Water, surge!"
Hermione raised her wand, copied Harry's movement, and recited, "Water, surge!"
Magic surged forth. Before Hermione's disbelieving eyes, Water Elements in the air instantly gathered and formed a flowing stream that rushed toward the raging flames.
However, Hermione had only just learned how to cast it and could not sustain it.
The water only extinguished one patch of flames. Before the raging inferno, it was far from enough.
Hermione was neither sad nor disappointed. She waved her wand again and said, "Water, surge!"
This time, it lasted slightly longer, barely extinguishing half of the flames.
Hermione took a deep breath and wanted to cast it again, but a wave of dizziness suddenly struck her. She staggered, nearly falling face-first onto the ground, her little face pale.
"Hermione, what's wrong?" Harry asked.
"I'm out of magic." Hermione replied weakly.
Harry was stunned. She had run out of magic after casting only two spells.
"Then try a little harder. As long as you put out one more section, we can cross the sea of fire and save Ron." Harry spoke hesitantly.
Hearing Harry's words, Hermione bit her lip and tried her best to force out more magic, but in the end, it was futile.
"I still can't do it!" Hermione said bitterly.
Harry felt despair when he saw this.
"You two have performed somewhat beyond my expectations."
At that moment, a voice rang out. Harry and Hermione shuddered all over. When they saw Katelyle descending from above, they were immediately overjoyed.
"Professor Kate!"
"Ron!"
Katelyle descended beside Harry while carrying the unconscious Ron. He placed Ron on the ground, then took out his wand and waved it. "Water Dance!"
In an instant, torrential rain poured down, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
To Harry and Hermione's delight, a magical barrier surrounded them, blocking all the falling rain and keeping their clothes dry.
Katelyle smiled faintly, then cast another spell. "Light of Hope!"
A small sun illuminated the entire Elemental Magic Academy, revealing everything within it.
The once-new chairs had been more than half burned away along with the vines, while the remaining unburned ones had turned pitch-black.
Furthermore, the entire Elemental Magic Academy was soaking wet. The scene was an utter mess.
Just then, the doors of the Elemental Magic Academy were pushed open, and Professor McGonagall and Headmaster Dumbledore entered.
Harry and Hermione's faces immediately turned pale.
At that moment, Harry and Hermione were utterly convinced that they were in serious trouble.
