Hagrid was incomparably valiant in his Battle Mage state. Shield and spear in hand, he resembled an invincible Spartan warrior, powerfully built and immensely strong.

His thick shield blocked the giant snake's charges and sweeping tail strikes time and again.

Under Hagrid's swings, the spear tore open the giant snake's skin again and again. He even hurled javelins like a bullfighter, one after another, lodging them directly into the giant snake's body.

Over those few minutes, Hagrid displayed the wildness and immense strength of a Giant, beating the giant snake senseless.

The ground shook repeatedly as Hagrid grabbed the giant snake by its tail and slammed it into the floor and walls, leaving Harry and the others astonished and envious.

Hagrid attacked with almost all his strength. The spears in his hands were replaced one after another, and even several shields had been smashed apart by the giant snake.

But none of that mattered to Hagrid. A broken shield could simply be discarded and replaced. He did not lack magic power now; he merely needed something to vent his fury on.

Listening to Hagrid's words, Harry and the others felt somewhat sympathetic.
