Bestowing Magic Devices

Katelyle's words rang out across the Elemental Magic Academy, shocking everyone.

Yet for the students, this was undoubtedly something exciting and challenging.

It would also make their school lives far more colorful.

Thus, everyone began looking forward to the elemental affinity test.

Naturally, they were also full of curiosity about Magic Devices.

"Draco Malfoy, Lightning Element mage!"

Professor Quirrell's slightly trembling, stammering voice rang out, and Harry and the others immediately turned their gazes toward Malfoy.

The Lightning Element was one of the three rare elemental magics.

It made countless students envious.

Yet Malfoy himself wore an expression of disappointment and unwillingness.

"Professor, could the test be wrong?"

Seeing Harry looking at him made Malfoy even more unwilling to accept it, and he could not help asking.

After all, he had been full of expectation and confidence just moments ago.

He had wanted to master at least three magical elements: Wind Element, Lightning Element, and Dark Element.

But heaven seemed to have played a joke on him.

Standing nearby, Severus Snape said impassively, "You may test again."

Hearing this, Malfoy grew excited and placed his hand on the crystal ball once more.

Malfoy closed his eyes and focused entirely, pouring his magic power into the crystal ball.

A moment later, the crystal ball emitted a purple glow. There was still only one magical element: the Lightning Element.

"How could this be?" Malfoy said unwillingly.

"That is enough, Malfoy. You have wasted enough time already."

Severus Snape gave him a faint glance and spoke mercilessly.

Malfoy's face went pale, his expression extremely ugly.

Professor Quirrell, who was responsible for recording the results, saw Malfoy's pale face. Light flickered in his eyes as he smiled. "Malfoy, you need not worry. Like the Light Element, the Lightning Element is a relatively rare elemental energy. Among all Elemental Magic, Lightning Element magic is also highly powerful. There is no need for you to be upset."

Malfoy complained, "I wanted to possess three types of Elemental Magic."

Professor Quirrell smiled without speaking, the corners of his lips curling into a meaningful arc.

"Oh, Harry Potter, you have given me a surprise and given our Gryffindor House a fine start."

"Harry Potter, Wind Element and Fire Element—dual-element magic."

Professor McGonagall's voice was rather loud. She was excited, and she was also filled with confidence in Harry Potter.

Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's words, the teachers and students nearby looked again at the crystal ball before Harry and cried out in surprise.

Everyone understood that the more elemental magics one possessed, the stronger one became, because one could master more powerful spells and possess greater magical power.

Watching the crystal ball before Harry release red and cyan energy, Malfoy's pale face darkened into something frightening.

Harry turned back to look at Malfoy, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly in a hint of provocation.

Malfoy understood. He curled his lip, clenched his fists, and swiftly turned to leave.

Katelyle looked at Malfoy. What he had not expected was that someone with Malfoy's personality would have Lightning Element energy hidden within him.

In Katelyle's research into Elemental Magic, there had once been studies concerning the relationship between personalities and magical elemental affinities.

In his view, most hot-tempered people would gain the favor of Fire Element energy, while a small number would gain the favor of Lightning Element energy.

For someone with a heart as dark as Malfoy's to gain the favor of Lightning Element energy was honestly a bit excessive.

Still, since he was a Lightning Element mage, he was worth focusing on.

As for the contest between Malfoy and Harry, heh, it would depend on whether the eagle or the vulture proved superior.

"Draco Malfoy!" Katelyle called out to Malfoy.

Katelyle's voice drew everyone's attention once more, along with high expectations.

Malfoy had not expected Katelyle to stop him. After a brief moment of bewilderment, he thought of the Magic Device and became excited.

Malfoy jogged over to Katelyle, looking at him expectantly.

"Hold out your hand," Katelyle said with a smile.

Though Malfoy did not know what Katelyle intended to do, he still held out his hand.

Katelyle took out his wand and drew a spell pattern in Malfoy's palm. Then a tiny Lightning Element spirit appeared in Malfoy's hand, and Malfoy also felt his magic power being consumed.

Even so, Malfoy was curious about the Lightning Element spirit in his palm.

"Not bad. You truly have gained the favor of Lightning Element energy. You are a highly talented Lightning Element mage. For now, you may become a candidate to receive a Magic Device reward among the Lightning Element mages," Katelyle said with a faint smile.

Upon hearing this, Malfoy immediately smiled excitedly. Then he seemed to recall something and looked toward Harry Potter. His provocative gaze and upturned lips gave him a somewhat handsome yet wicked air.

Harry met Malfoy's gaze, light flickering in his eyes. Then he ignored Malfoy and turned to leave.

"Harry Potter!"

Katelyle's voice rang out, and the smile on Malfoy's face instantly froze.

Damn it, I forgot that this guy is a dual-element Wind and Fire mage.

Harry paused slightly. Then, amid Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger's excitement, they pushed Harry toward Katelyle.

Only then did Harry react, a smile appearing on his face. The way he looked at Malfoy also gained a trace of amusement.

A Magic Device, a sacred artifact that enhanced one's strength—who would not want one?

"Luna Jennifer."

Katelyle's voice rang out again. Among Ravenclaw's first-year students, Luna Jennifer stepped forward quietly and gracefully.

At that moment, everyone looked enviously at Harry, Malfoy, and Luna.

The elemental affinity tests continued, and more and more students had their magical affinities tested.

Most young wizards possessed Fire Element, Water Element, or Earth Element affinities. Wind Element affinities appeared only occasionally, and they were mostly found among Ravenclaw students.

Perhaps that was Ravenclaw. Its symbol was the eagle, and it believed in the wind, so it was favored by the Wind Element.

Other than Luna Jennifer, no Light Element mage appeared until all the students had completed their tests.

Ten Lightning Element mages did appear, including Malfoy among them.

Not a single Dark Element mage appeared, as though it were even rarer than the other elements.

Severus Snape's gaze swept around the area repeatedly. He kept close watch on the records and announcements of the other professors, yet there was not a single Dark Element mage. This left him deeply disappointed.

Professor Quirrell felt much the same as Severus Snape.

He too was filled with anticipation over whether there were any Dark Element mages among these students.

Furthermore, among the entire school's teachers and students, Harry was currently the only one tested as a dual-element mage.

This drew everyone's attention, as well as... special care!
