Luna Jennifer, Light Element Mage

On the training grounds, eight pillars topped with crystal balls rose at different locations.

Each pillar was only one metre tall, with a crystal ball the size of a human head resting on top.

These crystal balls were used to test elemental affinities.

At the same time, beside each crystal ball stood the head or a professor from a respective house, recording the results.

Severus Snape was in charge of Slytherin. He was extremely curious about how many geniuses capable of learning Elemental Magic would emerge from Slytherin.

The others who shared Snape's thoughts were Professor McGonagall, head of Gryffindor; Professor Flitwick, head of Ravenclaw; and Pomona Sprout, head of Hufflepuff.

The first to undergo the affinity test were the first-year students.

On the Gryffindor side, Harry Potter and his two friends stood at the front, while everyone else queued behind them.

At the front of the Slytherin students stood Malfoy, followed by Crabbe and Goyle.

"Professor Katelyle is incredibly powerful. He has mastered seven types of Elemental Magic. That's amazing!"

"If it were me, I'd want Wind Element and Earth Element. That combination would definitely be interesting."

Goyle looked in Katelyle's direction and spoke with immense envy.

Hearing this, Malfoy said confidently, "I'll have at least three types of Elemental Magic. What I look forward to most are Wind Element, Lightning Magic, and Dark Element. They're powerful enough, especially Wind Element. It can give me plenty of mobility and combat strength."

"I'm going to crush Harry. I'll make him understand just how powerful I am."

Hearing Malfoy's words, Goyle and Crabbe eagerly began praising him.

Nearby, Snape heard the conversation between Malfoy and Goyle. His eyes gleamed as he turned his gaze toward Harry.

Though it was only a glance, Harry happened to catch it, and an uncomfortable feeling immediately rose within him.

Subconsciously, Harry touched his forehead.

"Harry, what's wrong?" Ron Weasley noticed Harry's movement and asked worriedly.

Hearing Ron's words, Hermione Granger also looked at Harry curiously.

"Nothing!" Harry shook his head and looked to the right.

What surprised Harry was that the first-year student standing at the front of Ravenclaw was a girl, and she looked especially quiet and gentle.

Those who stood at the front were generally recognised by their class. They had prestige and ability.

For example, during flying class, everyone had treated him as though he were the class monitor, the big brother of Gryffindor's first-years.

Ravenclaw valued wisdom, fairness, shrewdness, and learning. Therefore, this girl before him had to be the smartest first-year in Ravenclaw.

"Harry, why are you staring at her? Don't tell me you've got ideas?" Ron followed Harry's gaze and laughed.

"Let me tell you, her name is Luna Jennifer. Recently, she did something that caused quite a sensation in Ravenclaw."

Harry grew curious and asked, "What did she do?"

Ron said seriously, "Luna is a genius, especially in Herbology. She actually memorised every spell in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1, and she can already cast ten spells. She's earned Professor Flitwick's recognition and affection."

Hearing this, Hermione, who stood behind Ron, looked at Luna Jennifer with shock and intense jealousy in her eyes.

Hermione had studied on her own before coming to school. Though she had worked extremely hard, she did not dare claim that she had memorised everything and could cast ten spells.

Yet now there was another girl who was faster and more capable than her. Hermione found that difficult to accept.

Luna Jennifer seemed to sense something. She turned to look at Hermione, then revealed a captivating smile.

Harry and Ron both froze at the sight.

Beautiful. So beautiful!

Ron even unconsciously leaned against Harry's back. Looking completely lovestruck, he nearly knocked Harry to the ground.

However, Hermione helped them.

Hermione was furious that Harry and Ron were staring at Luna Jennifer so infatuatedly. She stretched out her hand and slammed it hard against Ron's back.

Harry and Ron fell to the ground. Ron clutched his aching back, and the commotion immediately drew everyone's attention.

Malfoy and the other Slytherins, in particular, began mocking them.

Professor McGonagall looked at Harry and Ron with a dark expression. These two had actually humiliated themselves in front of everyone. Did they want Gryffindor to become a laughingstock?

Ron had been angry enough to ask Hermione why she had hit him, but when he saw Professor McGonagall's expression, he held back. He only glared fiercely at Hermione, while Hermione crossed her arms and looked away, neither explaining herself nor paying him any attention.

Ron and Harry could only let the matter drop.

"Luna Jennifer, step forward for the test!"

Professor Flitwick's voice rang out, and Harry and the others instinctively looked over.

Luna stepped forward, placed her hand on the crystal ball, and released her magic.

Harry and the others were extremely curious about what sort of elemental affinity such an intelligent Luna would possess.

Before long, light began to flicker within the crystal ball.

Harry and his two friends widened their eyes, finding it utterly unbelievable.

As the first to be tested, Luna had given everyone an enormous surprise.

"Oh, my goodness, Luna! You've given me such a wonderful surprise right from the start."

Professor Flitwick's exclamation was loud and clear, showing just how delighted he was.

It immediately drew everyone's attention, and Katelyle and Dumbledore even walked over at once.

The crystal ball radiated a dazzling white light.

Though brilliant, it was not harsh on the eyes. It felt warm and comfortable instead.

"Albus, Katelyle, this is the rare Light Element. Luna is a genius," Professor Flitwick said with a delighted smile, as though claiming credit before Dumbledore and Katelyle.

Dumbledore and Katelyle also smiled. Light Element, Dark Element, and Lightning Magic were comparatively rare affinities, especially Light Element and Dark Element.

Katelyle looked at Luna, who remained relatively calm and did not show much excitement, then asked with a smile, "What is your name, child?"

"Luna Jennifer!" Luna answered softly with a smile.

"Very good. You are a genius, and I will focus on nurturing you," Katelyle said with a smile. "Also, if there isn't a second Light Element mage among those present, this magical artefact will be yours."

As he spoke, Katelyle took out a necklace. It shone with white light in his hand, incomparably beautiful, while also radiating a powerful magical fluctuation.

When Katelyle infused it with magic, a sacred hymn sounded from within the necklace. Then, a sexy female angel with wings flew out from it and guarded Katelyle's side.

"This necklace is called Light's Protection. Like the most powerful Light Element spell, Light's Protection, it can summon a guardian angel. She can help you block many spells, and at critical moments, she can even protect your life."

Hearing Katelyle's words and seeing the guardian angel, all the teachers and students cried out in amazement.

The children especially looked at Luna Jennifer with envy filling their eyes.

Luna could no longer maintain her earlier calmness and composure. Looking at the necklace and the beautiful angel, she clearly liked them immensely.

At that moment, Luna could not help wanting to step forward and claim it.

But Luna did not do so, because this powerful Light's Protection was not hers yet.

Light Element was the nemesis of Dark Element. In other words, some methods used by dark wizards could be nullified or restrained by Light Element magic.

However, he knew very well that Katelyle possessed magical artefacts comparable to holy relics.

He had once asked the alchemy master Nicolas Flamel about it, and even Flamel had marvelled at Katelyle's imaginative ideas.

Of course, Katelyle had discussed the scene before them with him beforehand.
