"Miao Mu! Are you all right down there?"
Bullock had climbed up the ladder to the roof. Lying over the chimney opening, he shouted down while six or seven flashlights shone into it.
"Quit yelling! I'm stuck! Get a rope down here!"
Miao Mu shouted upward. The blades on his arm guards retracted as he braced himself with both feet against the walls, completely still.
Those wealthy young ladies in the hall had not been scared out of their wits yet. Why should he go down there? They could experience Batman's terror properly first.
"Hold on!" Bullock hurriedly called for someone to bring up a rope.
"Do you want me to come down and help you?" Bullock lay over the chimney opening again and shouted down.
"Try coming down here. I'll stab you with this little knife and put a hole in your ass."
Miao Mu shifted his feet and slowly moved downward. If Bullock came down here, he would really get stuck.
After inching along for a while, Miao Mu finally stepped onto solid ground. He had reached the bottom. Looking outside, it was even darker than the inside of the fireplace...
This villa was huge. At least a hundred people could fit in the banquet hall without any problem.
But once the lights went out, they really could not see a thing. Only the smoke pouring out of the smoke grenades gave them a little visibility.
"Um... nobody move! Hands up!"
Miao Mu drew the Glock 17 at his waist, fitted with a flashlight attachment, and shouted harshly at the people ahead.
The flashlight beneath the barrel cast a beam of white light forward, making the already chaotic crowd even more frantic.
"Save me! Hurry!"
"Don't shoot!"
"God, bless Your faithful followers."
When trouble struck, everyone reacted differently.
