The operation at Zero Bar moved quickly. Miao Mu gave them no chance at all—he kicked down the door, then fired a shot at the ceiling.
The people inside thought it was an armed robbery. Just as they were taking out the money, Arkham police slammed them against the wall and snapped handcuffs onto their wrists.
Only then did those people realize that these bastards who looked like robbers were fucking cops?
"Fuck, assholes! Who are you? I want to see Chief Mason!"
The bar owner was cuffed behind his back to a chair off to the side, struggling violently. He clearly still thought Miao Mu and the others were Upper East Side cops.
"Quit howling. You'll see Mason soon enough. I'll send all of you to the Upper East Side Police Department. Here, take this. Open your mouth!"
Miao Mu took out a bag of white powder and stuffed it into the bar owner's mouth. Milo stood beside him with a camera.
Click. He took a picture.
It was a Polaroid camera, and the photo immediately slid out. Miao Mu took it and gave it a shake until the image developed.
"Talk. Where are the goods?" Miao Mu asked, holding the photo.
"Ptooey... Could we discuss this?" The bar owner spat out the bag of powder and said somewhat sheepishly,
"Our boss is Maroni. Cut us some slack, and you'll be richly rewarded later! Please!"
"Reward my ass! Stop wasting my time. Where are the goods?"
Miao Mu gave him no face at all.
As for Sal Maroni? He was nothing but trash. A guy who could not even get a single cell in Blackgate Prison was not worth worrying about.
The bar owner looked at Miao Mu, who would not budge no matter what he said, and hesitated.
