Inferi, Curses, an Unexpected Attack!

Without the White Wizard powerhouses' spellcasting to reinforce it, the enormous golden magical barrier covering the entire Hogwarts grounds finally shattered beneath the Black Wizards' fierce assault.

Deafening, grating cheers immediately erupted all around Hogwarts.

But after the cheers subsided, the Saints did not launch a charge themselves. Even the army of ten thousand humanoid magical creatures to the north remained still.

Following the order Grindelwald had issued before the barrier broke, the Saints turned their eyes toward the numerous corpses left around them.

These bodies included the many evil Muggles and some ordinary Saints who had just been sacrificed, as well as the Saints and humanoid magical creatures killed earlier when the barrier reflected its attacks back at them.

In every direction, more than a dozen Core Saints controlled suitcases containing one or two thousand such corpses each. Altogether, there were already over ten thousand bodies.

Although the corpses left behind by the sacrifices had lost much of their vitality and become aged and unsightly, that did not stop them from being put to use.

In an instant, Saints in every direction cast the Dark Magic that transformed nearby corpses into Inferi.

The corpses that had lain silently on the ground immediately turned blue-skinned and gained bizarre forms of mobility.

Then, more than ten thousand Inferi charged toward the Hogwarts grounds from every direction.

Inferi knew no fear and could swim. Even with missing arms or broken legs, they could continue to cling to and attack their enemies.

Though each one was pitifully weak on its own, once they gathered into a tide of corpses, they made excellent cannon fodder. They could drain the White Wizards' strength and stamina, leaving them exhausted.

This move somewhat exceeded Dumbledore's and the other White Wizard powerhouses' expectations.
