"No problem at all. I came prepared with enough Galleons this time. Five million pounds would only get anyone else 50,000 Galleons, but I can offer you 60,000 Galleons. Consider it the start of a friendship!"
Lyon's eyes flickered. "Then I must thank you for your kindness, Mr. Malfoy. Birmingham's doors will always be open to you."
"Birmingham? The Shelby Family... Could you be... the Razor Gang?"
Lyon wore an unruffled smile, as though it were not worth mentioning.
Lucius became even more respectful and continued chatting with Lyon for a while.
Upon learning that Lyon would be attending Hogwarts that year, Draco felt a sourness in his heart.
Someone his own age was actually holding a lively conversation with his father, and the two of them seemed to get along remarkably well.
Lyon was also the famous Razor Gang figure from Birmingham. At such a young age, he was free from parental control, able to do whatever he wanted, and apparently doing it very well.
It felt as though the pride he had always taken in being a member of the Malfoy Family had been shattered.
For some reason, jealousy welled up inside him. Before he could think, he blurted out, "Mr. Shelby, do you come from a pure-blood family?"
The moment he said it, Draco regretted it. His father had told him never to interrupt while business was being discussed.
"Draco, don't make a fool of yourself!"
Sure enough, Lucius's voice rang out. Draco lowered his head like a quail and did not dare say another word.
"It's all right, Mr. Malfoy. I'm a half-blood. My mother left me after I was born, and my wizard father passed away last year."
Lyon remained calm about it. Lucius was somewhat surprised after hearing this. Such an outstanding person was actually only a half-blood!
"Oh, that is unfortunate. My son is terribly ill-mannered. Please forgive him."
Lucius apologized with a smile, but Draco was still unconvinced. However, under his father's overwhelming pressure, he did not dare say anything.
After talking with Lucius for a while longer, Lyon took the bag containing 60,000 Galleons.
The bag had clearly been enchanted with the Undetectable Extension Charm. After Lyon put it away, Lucius courteously saw him out.
The instant Lyon left, Lucius's face darkened as he looked at Draco beside him.
"Draco, didn't I tell you not to interrupt while I was discussing business?"
"Father, I didn't mean it that way. I only wanted to see whether Lyon came from a pure-blood family."
"Idiot."
Lucius cursed under his breath, feeling a tightness in his chest.
As the head of one of the Wizarding Society's foremost families, he handled everything well.
When Voldemort rose to power, he had swiftly joined Voldemort's camp.
Then, after Voldemort died, he had managed to extricate himself unscathed. All of that had relied on his wisdom and judgment.
Yet when it came to educating his son, he kept hitting a wall. Draco's mind was filled with nothing but Quidditch and showing off. Lucius truly could not carry him anymore...
Sometimes, he genuinely wanted to take Draco to one of those Muggle hospitals and test whether Draco was really his biological son.
"Are your eyes stuck shut with Troll drool? There were more than a hundred Muggle gangsters standing behind Lyon just now."
"Lyon's father died in Birmingham last year. Think carefully—what exactly is wrong with that?"
Draco froze upon hearing this.
"Father, are you talking about the Birmingham riot last year?"
"That's right. There were not many wizards in Birmingham to begin with. I suspect Lyon's father died in that riot. As a wizard, his father could not possibly have gathered local Muggles and formed a gang."
"The Ministry of Magic would never allow a wizard to build an organization in the Muggle world. So tell me, where do you think that gang came from?"
A bold speculation rose in Draco's heart.
"There were once rumors in the Muggle world that Lyon built the Razor Gang entirely by himself."
"And just now, Lyon killed that wandering wizard Tom in the bar with master-level Fiendfyre. Yet you, my idiotic son, tried to judge someone like that by his bloodline."
Lucius glared at Draco, leaving him utterly stunned.
"Father... are you saying he built a gang by himself within a year...?"
"And he also possesses master-level Fiendfyre Curse? That's impossible!"
Lucius remained silent for a long time before shooting Draco a disappointed glance.
"Either he is some ancient monster who drank Polyjuice Potion, but I deliberately prolonged our conversation by an hour just now, and he did not drink any water during that time."
"He likely did not drink Polyjuice Potion, which proves that my earlier guess was correct."
Draco fell silent. He did not want to believe that anyone could be better than him.
"Father, that can't be possible. He's just..."
"Shut up, Draco. You need to learn to accept your own inadequacy and accept the excellence of others."
"You and he will be classmates this year. I hope you seize this opportunity and build a good relationship with him."
Lucius's words left Draco speechless.
"He will likely investigate last year's Death Eaters. Those people did this. Do not interfere, and do not let the Malfoy Family provoke them."
"Father, are you saying those people were responsible for last year's riot?!"
"Shut up, Draco. You had better forget about this. And maintain a good relationship with Lyon. Learn how he gets things done."
Draco curled his lip, but did not dare argue.
Unlike Draco, who had behaved like a meek grandson, Lyon soon returned to Birmingham.
He was extremely satisfied with the Fiendfyre Curse this time.
[Ding, congratulations to the host for successfully exchanging 60,000 Galleons and unlocking the achievement: First Pot of Gold] [Host reward: one Dragon egg.]
Lyon was stunned. A Dragon egg?
This trip had been immensely satisfying. Not only had he made the acquaintance of Lucius, a prominent figure in Wizarding Society, but he had also exchanged for 60,000 Galleons.
With the system reward added in, it was simply killing three birds with one stone.
Only after returning to his office did Lyon summon the system.
"System, take out the Dragon egg."
A burst of red light suddenly appeared, followed by a sharp rise in the room's temperature. Lyon gradually began to feel hot.
The red light came from the desk. Within it, the phantom of an egg slowly emerged. The entire egg was as large as a human head, with fiery red patterns running across its surface!
Soon, the egg's phantom solidified, and the surrounding red light vanished.
Lyon gently touched the Dragon egg's surface. It was warm, with lingering heat still clinging to it.
A strange thought suddenly crossed his mind.
Could this egg... have been stolen by the system?
He could already picture the scene.
The Dragon had just returned home and, after warming its backside, was about to incubate its egg when the familiar sensation beneath it suddenly vanished. It looked down, only to find that the egg was gone...
And so, another heartbroken Dragon was born into the world.
Setting those thoughts aside, Lyon examined the Dragon egg before him. He seemed to know absolutely nothing about it.
"System, how do I hatch a Dragon egg?"
[Ding! Don't know.]
Lyon fell silent. Other protagonists' systems either answered their questions or remained silent. At the very least, they would say that the host lacked the required authority...
But his system had simply told him it did not know.
Fine, so that's how we're playing this?
Frowning, he suddenly recalled that Hagrid seemed to have raised a Dragon. In Hagrid's hut, there had once been a Norwegian Ridgeback called Norbert.
It should have been during this school year, right?
Hagrid should know how to hatch a Dragon egg. Lyon planned to ask him once he got to school.
