Snape glanced at David beside him but said nothing, quietly watching David speak.
"You injured the other prefects. You should know there will be a price to pay."
"Professor Snape, I suggest giving Lyon a week of detention directly."
Lyon glanced at Snape and saw that Snape had no intention of favoring David. That put his mind at ease.
"Mr. David, is it?" Lyon straightened his clothes, stood up, and swept his gaze over everyone.
"First, if you understood the full course of events, you wouldn't be asking me that, because I wasn't the one who started this."
"Second, Mr. David, as Slytherin's student council president, you should understand better than anyone what kind of place Slytherin is."
"I believe that among Slytherin's little snakes, only the strong are fit to lead. Only trials at the edge of life and death can make these wizards stronger."
As Lyon spoke, his gaze passed over everyone present. The aura unique to a leader was displayed in full at that moment.
"Bullshit!"
A voice suddenly interrupted Lyon.
It was Amis, a fourth-year prefect.
Lyon calmly stared at Amis's face as Amis stood up and looked at Snape.
"Professor Snape, Lyon is clearly twisting words. All I saw was him injuring the other prefects."
"I suggest giving Lyon detention for an entire term!"
Lyon narrowed his eyes. He remembered that he had never provoked Amis before.
Amis had no reason to target him.
But Amis's next sentence answered Lyon's question.
"Professor Snape, perhaps you haven't heard yet. The Slytherin students from first to third year are all calling Lyon their godfather now. Then what does that make the rest of us prefects?"
"This is clearly against school rules."
Lyon smiled, slowly left his seat, and stopped in front of Amis.
His left hand smoothly removed the glove from his right hand, then his right hand extended forward.
"Mr. Amis, your words just now have offended me. If you don't wish to fight me, then I think we can be friends."
Snape's eyes flickered at the sight. He had no idea what Lyon was trying to do.
Others had already bullied Lyon to his face, yet Lyon had not struck first.
That restraint was impressive enough, but Snape felt that for someone Lyon's age, not acting made him seem somewhat weak.
Snape had never sensed weakness from Lyon before, so why was he acting this way tonight?
Snape thought about it, but he still had no intention of stopping this farce.
He had actually called Lyon here today so that he could familiarize himself with the prefects from every year. That way, Lyon would be able to manage Slytherin House better in the future.
But before that could happen, Lyon had already offended this group of prefects.
"What do you mean by that? If you want to back down, then back down properly. Acting like you really are some godfather, when you're nothing but a little brat."
Amis became even more unrestrained. The other prefects present all watched Lyon with the mindset of enjoying a show.
They had been annoyed with Lyon for a long time too.
Every day, all they heard were people calling him "Godfather Lyon." As proud Slytherin prefects, how could they possibly tolerate that?
Now that they saw Lyon getting humiliated, they finally felt some satisfaction.
But Snape beside them seemed to sense something, and unease inexplicably rose in his heart.
The calm expression in Lyon's eyes had changed.
Indifference, killing intent, coldness.
Lyon slowly removed the glove from his left hand and placed the black glove on the table.
Amis seemed to realize that something was wrong as well. In the blink of an eye, Lyon's entire aura had changed.
His eyes were like those of a python stalking through the desert at night. The movement of gently setting down the black glove appeared slow and light, but Amis felt a bone-chilling cold rise in his heart.
Not good!
In an instant, the unease in his heart surged to its peak. He instinctively took a sharp step back, his hand darting toward his wand.
"Killing Curse!"
A blinding green light suddenly appeared in the room!
The instant Snape heard the incantation, he froze. He did not even have time to react.
He had assumed Lyon would cast the Fiendfyre Curse or some other dark curse. He had planned not to interfere as long as Lyon did not injure Amis.
But.
That was the fucking Killing Curse!
Before Snape could react, the distinctive light of the Killing Curse had already reached Amis.
Amis's eyes widened, and despair filled his heart.
He had never experienced such a feeling before. It was the despair of facing death!
The next moment!
Bang!
A loud explosion suddenly rang out from the floor nearby!
Lyon's spell had actually avoided Amis's body and struck the ground directly, setting off a violent blast!
Amis's face had gone white with fright, and he fell stiffly backward.
Only then did the people around him react. They instantly stood and rushed to Amis's side. Once they felt that he was still alive, they all breathed sighs of relief.
After the fear came anger. They turned around, and David spoke first.
"Shelby! That was the Killing Curse! How did you learn that kind of magic?!"
The seventh-year prefect beside him also spoke up. "That's the Killing Curse, one of the three Unforgivable Curses! You actually dared to use it on a fellow student!"
"You should be sent to Azkaban!"
As they spoke, they angrily surrounded Lyon, their gazes cold.
It was not only because of Lyon's Killing Curse just now.
More importantly, it was because Lyon had disrupted the hierarchy here.
"Stupefy!"
"Leg-Locker Curse!"
"Expelliarmus!"
In an instant, several prefects raised their hands as though they had planned it in advance, firing spells at Lyon!
He might be able to dodge one spell, but they refused to believe he could dodge so many!
Yet Lyon calmly raised his wand.
"Fire Shield!"
As Lyon's magic surged into his wand, a black-red flame suddenly appeared at its tip!
"Finite Incantatem!"
A spell suddenly rang out in the prefects' lounge!
The moment the spell appeared, every spell in the lounge seemed to lose control, turning into tiny points of starlight, reverting into pure magic, and dissipating into the air!
The Fiendfyre Lyon had just unleashed also seemed to be torn apart by a violent force.
But Lyon's spells had already reached the master level. Combined with the terrifying magic within his body and the powerful magical support of the Elderwood Wand, the Fiendfyre did not go out under Finite Incantatem!
Snape had shouted the Finite Incantatem just now. Only after Lyon realized that did he slowly extinguish the Fiendfyre at the tip of his wand.
Didn't Finite Incantatem require many wizards to cast it together?
But this was not the time to think about that. Lyon looked at Snape, and Snape stared steadily back at Lyon as their eyes met.
Another prefect was about to make a move when Snape suddenly shouted, "Foke! Don't be stupid. You're no match for Lyon."
A trace of dissatisfaction appeared on Foke's face, as though he felt he had been questioned. But under Snape's gaze, he reluctantly lowered his head.
After dealing with that, the cold expression on Snape's face did not lessen. He took several steps forward and looked at Amis lying on the ground.
Only after confirming that Amis was fine did he turn to Lyon.
"Lyon, you just used an Unforgivable Curse on a fellow student. Do you know what the consequences are?"
Snape frowned deeply and stared into Lyon's eyes, obvious anger burning in his gaze.
(Brothers, the next chapter may not be out until after midnight. Don't wait up; you can read it tomorrow morning. The weather has been cold lately, and my hands are so frozen that I can barely type. Shivering. Brothers, remember to keep warm.)
