Ultimate Interception and the Dawn of Hope

"Damn! It's Nemesis!" Shade stared at the massive creature on the surveillance screen, his face ashen. He knew how terrifying this weapon was.

The Lickers ahead also leaped onto the train roof, frantically tearing at the steel plating with their claws.

"Shade, take the others and hold the rear carriage—stop Nemesis! Alice, Matt, come with me and clear the Lickers off the roof! Kaplan, accelerate at full speed!" Li Wei instantly made the most reasonable deployment. At this moment, no one questioned his orders.

Shade, Rain, J.D., and the others immediately formed a defensive line at the rear of the carriage, trying to slow Nemesis's advance with overwhelming firepower. But the thing's defenses were incredibly strong; ordinary bullets had little effect.

On the roof, Li Wei, Alice, and Matt climbed out of the carriage. Matt fired controlled shots with his rifle, while Alice displayed her astonishing combat skills, engaging a Licker in close combat. Li Wei, meanwhile, was the true main force of slaughter.

Bullets poured down like a torrential rain, every one following an unbelievable trajectory to strike the vital points of the Lickers racing across the roof with perfect accuracy. At the same time, he split off part of his telekinesis to form an invisible barrier, disrupting the Lickers' movements and protecting Alice and Matt.

The battle on the roof ended quickly. All three Lickers were taken out by Li Wei.

But the situation at the rear of the train was dire. Nemesis pushed through the barrage of bullets and drew ever closer. Its rotary machine gun had already begun to roar, sweeping the rear of the train with a metal storm of bullets!

"Watch out!" Li Wei shouted, his telekinesis erupting at full force to form a solid barrier at the rear of the carriage!

"Clang, clang, clang!" Countless bullets slammed into the invisible barrier, sparks flying everywhere. The telekinetic shield rippled violently, but it ultimately blocked the deadly barrage!

Li Wei's face went pale. Maintaining high-intensity fire while defending such a large area was an enormous drain on him.

"This can't go on!" Alice said anxiously.

Li Wei's eyes sharpened as he shouted to Shade, "Captain, do we have any high-explosive grenades or explosives?"

"Yes!" Shade immediately threw over an equipment pack.

Li Wei caught it and took out all the high explosives inside. He did not throw them. Instead, he wrapped them all in telekinesis and controlled them with precision, launching them at Nemesis like missiles! Then, the instant they drew close, he forcibly detonated them with his telekinesis!

"Boom—!!!"

The enormous explosion echoed through the tunnel, and flames swallowed Nemesis's figure. The powerful shockwave even made the train lurch.

As the flames faded, Nemesis's huge body had been blasted into a mangled wreck. It lay on the tracks, unable to move.

The team members at the rear stared at the scene, too stunned to speak. Precisely launching and remotely detonating every high explosive with telekinesis—what kind of control was that?!

The crisis was temporarily resolved. The train finally rushed out of the tunnel and stopped at the platform beneath the mansion.

Exhausted beyond measure, everyone got off the train and returned to the mansion. Sunlight streamed through the windows, making it feel like a lifetime had passed.

Just then, the sound of helicopters and footsteps came from outside the mansion. Umbrella Corporation's retrieval team had arrived.

Shade immediately raised his gun, his expression wary.

"Don't be nervous, Captain." Li Wei waved his hand. "We have the Red Queen's mainboard, we have Spence as 'evidence,' and... me." He glanced out the window. "What Umbrella Corporation wants most right now is 'retrieval' and research, not immediate extermination. Especially after I've demonstrated this kind of 'value.'"

Sure enough, the commander of the Umbrella Corporation unit that entered did not attack immediately. Instead, he looked at Li Wei and Alice with a complicated expression, his gaze lingering for a long time on Li Wei's unusual arm guard.

"Mr. Li Wei, Ms. Alice... the company is... very interested in your performance in The Hive," the commander said in a strange tone.

Li Wei smiled faintly. He knew that the first stage of the mission had been completed perfectly. He had successfully saved every team member, obtained Umbrella Corporation's core technology, and planted deep seeds of trust and dependence in Alice's heart and in the hearts of all the survivors.

He looked at the team members, still shaken but filled with gratitude, before finally fixing his gaze on Alice's blue eyes, where fire had begun to burn once more.

"Everything is only just beginning," he said softly.
