Dark Lord

Dormammu, seated upon the throne within the Dark Sanctum, also sensed the battle between the four dark lords and Chen Xu. He knew that the four dark lords had been defeated, and two of them had already died, unable to be reborn. This made Dormammu deeply uneasy. Within the Dark Dimension, the dark lords' power was enhanced, and they could draw upon the dark energy within the Dark Dimension. As long as the Dark Dimension remained, Dormammu could revive them. Yet now, he could not do so. The two dead dark lords seemed as though they had never existed, leaving behind no trace of their presence. That was why Dormammu felt such a sense of crisis.

Dormammu had originally been nothing more than a mage from another world. By chance, he discovered the existence of the Dark Dimension and its immense power. Thus, he cast away his physical body and merged with the Dark Dimension, completely transforming into a being of energy—undying, indestructible, ageless, and immortal, existing alongside the Dark Dimension. Within the Dark Dimension, Dormammu was practically a godlike existence: omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, capable of anything and aware of everything. However, he could only achieve all this within the Dark Dimension. Naturally, he could see every creature within it. Yet now, someone had actually killed them within the Dark Dimension, erasing them completely from it. This was something Dormammu had never anticipated; it had even surpassed all his expectations.

After taking out the four dark lords of the Dark Dimension, Chen Xu did not waste any time and headed straight for the Dark Sanctum.

Chen Xu saw an enormous palace standing before him. It had been constructed entirely from some unknown black stone, and dense dark energy radiated outward from it.

"Didn't expect Dormammu to be such a construction nut."

Upon entering, Chen Xu saw Dormammu sitting calmly on his throne, leisurely watching him walk in.

Chen Xu also saw Dormammu. At that moment, Dormammu had revealed a humanoid skull wreathed in blazing purple flames, with a powerful physique. The moment Chen Xu saw him like that, he could not hold back his laughter.

"Heh... heh... heh..." When Dormammu saw Chen Xu mocking him, rage instantly swallowed him whole. As the ruler of the Dark Dimension and an existence beyond time itself, Dormammu had traversed the entire multiverse, yet no one had ever dared ridicule him like this. The ever-proud Dormammu felt humiliated. This was naked humiliation. The next second, Dormammu gathered the dark energy of the entire Dark Dimension and launched it straight at Chen Xu.

"Chen Xu, you're courting death."

Chen Xu was also stunned.

"Damn, I only laughed a couple of times, and you're already trying to fight me to the death?"

Chen Xu did not back down either. He immediately formed an energy fire lotus and hurled it forward.

The two terrifying energies collided directly. At the center of the collision, space shattered and collapsed inward, forming a small black hole. It then rapidly expanded and exploded like the Big Bang, crushing even the surrounding space beneath that swelling energy.

"What? How can you be this powerful?"

Dormammu was the ruler of the Dark Dimension. Within the Dark Dimension, his strength was multiplied severalfold. He was completely shocked.

But Chen Xu was shocked as well.

"Damn, how did Dormammu become this damn powerful? He wasn't like this last time at the Ancient One's Sanctum. What the hell did he do?"

"Chen Xu, I am invincible in the Dark Dimension. You actually foolishly came straight into the Dark Dimension to find me. You truly are an idiot."

"Oh, really? An idiot? Then let's see who the real idiot is."

Dormammu once again drew upon the power of the Dark Dimension. There were no flashy techniques; he simply condensed a black sphere of energy. Even the space within the energy sphere was wiped out. Controlling its direction, he sent it hurtling toward Chen Xu.

Chen Xu sensed the terrifying energy contained within the sphere. Wherever it passed, space was obliterated and stars were devoured, leaving behind only emptiness. Chen Xu immediately used his mental power, enough to pierce through all universes, to control the Evolved Phoenix Force within his body. A more powerful, vigorous, ancient aura then erupted from him. Chen Xu transformed into a lifelike phoenix that continued to grow larger. Omega Rays gathered directly at its beak, converging into a beam radiating boundless energy, which shot toward the energy sphere. An even fiercer collision than before erupted, and the energy blasted out of the Dark Dimension, even affecting worlds in other dimensions.

At that moment, within an ancient, desolate cosmic starfield, a throne floated silently in the void, as though it were the center of the entire world. Seated upon it was an ugly-faced, purple-skinned figure. That person was Thanos.

Sensing a terrifying disturbance of energy from another dimension, he opened his weathered eyes, as though he intended to see through that region of space.

"Ebony Maw."

"My lord, what are your commands?"

"Go to the Dark Dimension and see what has happened."

"Yes, great Lord Thanos."

Feeling the vast, boundless aura emanating from Chen Xu, Dormammu was utterly stunned. He had drawn upon the power of the entire Dark Dimension for that attack, yet he still could not kill Chen Xu. Chen Xu's strength had far exceeded Dormammu's expectations.

The entire Dark Dimension had begun to twist and tear apart under their battle. The Dark Dimension was Dormammu's very foundation. Chen Xu naturally sensed the changes in it as well, and he directly condensed even greater power, causing the entire Dark Dimension to enter a state of expansion.

When Dormammu saw what Chen Xu was doing, his earlier fury instantly vanished, leaving behind only fear—the fear that the Dark Dimension was about to be destroyed.

"Quick, stop! Chen Xu, have you lost your mind?"

"Lost my mind? That's right, I have."

"Now I want to see who the fool really is."

"You... Fine, I'm the fool. I'm the fool, all right? Just stop already."

"Stop? You want me to stop, so I stop? Do you think that's possible?"

Dormammu could no longer care about anything else. Chen Xu was about to destroy the Dark Dimension. If the Dark Dimension vanished, he would be finished as well. He could no longer care about his pride. The most urgent matter was making Chen Xu stop. If this continued, Chen Xu would wipe out the Dark Dimension.

"I can stop, but hand over the Ancient One's soul."

"The Ancient One's soul?"

Dormammu hesitated. The Ancient One had been his sworn enemy for many years.
