Dumbledore made a swift decision and snatched the parchment back from Xiwen. He wrote a long passage of profound, obscure runes on the back before handing it to Xiwen.
"These are some basic Ancient Runes. Translate this passage for me now," Dumbledore said. "If you truly taught yourself Ancient Runes, this shouldn't be too difficult for you."
Taking the parchment, Xiwen's expression turned strange. Suppressing a laugh, he said, "Professor, I never expected you to like this sort of thing."

"Cough, cough." Dumbledore gave a dry cough. "Wasn't this to test your true level?"
He snatched the parchment from Xiwen's hand. A flame emerged from his palm, instantly burning it to ashes.
"Now that you've proven your mastery of Ancient Runes, it seems you don't need this professor's signature!" Dumbledore said with a perfectly serious expression.
I think you just wanted to destroy the evidence! Xiwen grumbled inwardly.
At that moment, Mrs. Dallaire walked over and asked doubtfully, "Professor Dumbledore, do you smell something burning nearby?"
"No." Dumbledore shook his head decisively. At the same time, he waved a hand behind his back, and the smell of burning along with the remaining ashes vanished instantly.
