"Feel pain!"
The Venom-covered Kaeciliuses spoke in unison as countless Crimson Bands of Cyttorak shot in from every direction, binding Zhang Yang tightly.
"Are you treating me like a boss?"
Zhang Yang was speechless at the sight. The last time he had seen something like this was... last time, when he watched Doctor Strange fight Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War at the cinema.
"Die!"
After Kaecilius bound Zhang Yang, all the Kaeciliuses began gathering their next spell.
Bolts of Balthakk, also one of Zhang Yang's usual magical attacks.
"By the way, aren't you going to summon the Dark Legion?"
Facing the incoming Bolts of Balthakk, Zhang Yang's expression did not change in the slightest. Instead, he asked curiously, "You shouldn't be able to defeat me like this."
"The current me no longer needs to..."
Kaecilius had just been about to proudly say that he was no longer the man he used to be when something happened that shattered his entire worldview.
Zhang Yang did not use any magic at all and simply broke free of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak... not one of them, but all of them!
Only Kaecilius himself knew how many duplicates he had created... there were more than two hundred of them!
More than two hundred Crimson Bands... broken with physical strength alone?
Was this really a mage, not some berserker?
While he was still stunned, something even more terrifying happened.
All two hundred Bolts of Balthakk struck Zhang Yang precisely. Before Kaecilius could even catch his breath, Zhang Yang walked out of the smoke.
Completely unharmed.
There was not even a wrinkle on his clothes.
"Not bad power."
Zhang Yang gave a fair assessment of Kaecilius's magic.
He instantly appeared before one Kaecilius who was still frozen in shock and waved his hand. By the time the other man reacted, something horrifying had happened.
An immense surge of magical power erupted. The entire Mirror Dimension did not even last a second before it burst apart.
All of Kaecilius's duplicates were destroyed one after another by that power, and their divided souls returned to Kaecilius's original body.
Zhang Yang crouched down, looking at Kaecilius, who lay sprawled on the ground yet struggled to lift his head. Zhang Yang lightly tapped a finger against the other man's forehead.
Like the last straw that broke the camel's back, Kaecilius could no longer hold on, and his head slammed heavily against the ground.
"So..."
Looking at Kaecilius prostrated on the ground, Zhang Yang said regretfully, "Why didn't you summon the Dark Legion?"
"You..."
Kaecilius only managed to utter one word before his eyes rolled back and he fainted.
"What should I do with him?"
Zhang Yang looked at the unconscious Kaecilius. He wanted to let him go, but could not find a good reason to do so.
Just as he was hesitating, help arrived at the perfect moment.
A terrifying force appeared in the sky.
When he walked to the window, he saw an enormous doorway.
It was a doorway burning with flames. Endless dark power seeped through its cracks, and anyone who came into contact with that power would become a red-eyed monster that knew only how to attack.
"Even after all this, it still gathered ten thousand children?"
Through the doorway, Zhang Yang seemed to see a figure seated upon a throne. His expression was somewhat helpless. "John Constantine and Lucifer... forget it. I won't say any more."
Flying into the air, Zhang Yang waved his hand, and an enormous Mirror Dimension appeared.
This Mirror Dimension enveloped the entire district, isolating the doorway from the real world.
As for those ordinary people transformed by the dark power into mindless attackers?
He believed someone would handle them.
"This power..."
Inside the Washington Natural History Library, a young and beautiful woman adjusted her glasses and looked solemnly out the window.
"Ms. Prince!"
A man pushed open the door and hurried over. "There are lots of rioters outside. Come with me, quickly!"
As he spoke, the man reached for the hand of the goddess he adored, only for her to avoid him.
"You should go first."
The woman whom the man called Prince did not even glance at him. Instead, she stood up. "I have something to take care of."
"I..."
The man, who had admired Prince for a long time, had barely opened his mouth when loud, chaotic noises reached his ears. His face turned pale.
He knew that if he did not leave now, he would not be able to leave at all.
He had to choose between life and love.
In the end... he gave his goddess one lingering look and left without looking back.
Ms. Prince was not surprised in the slightest.
Prince, full name Diana Prince, came from Paradise Island. She was the daughter of Zeus, the once-exiled king of Olympus, and Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, born with endless divine power.
Because she was a demigod, she had not been expelled by Kamar-Taj.
As Paradise Island's representative and its next queen, she had come to this bustling mortal world because of a man who had suddenly entered her life.
As for who that man was... Diana took a photograph from her chest. It showed her standing together with that man.
"I will find you!"
Diana carefully put the photograph back into the hidden pocket against her chest, then transformed into a spirited warrior goddess.
She slowly rose into the air and charged toward the center of the dark power.
She wanted to deal with the chaos below, but the most urgent task was to contain the source of this dark power. Otherwise, these people would sooner or later become like this again.
She flew quickly and soon reached the center of the dark power, only to discover that its source had been isolated into another space by a different force.
She was familiar with this method, because Paradise Island used the same means to isolate itself from reality.
"Let's give it a try."
Diana tried it, and to her surprise, she really opened an entrance large enough for her to enter.
Only after making thorough preparations did she step inside.
At the center of this space, a young figure was studying the doorway burning with dark flames.
That back looked somewhat familiar to Diana.
Zhang Yang was studying the principles behind the doorway's formation. Just as he became absorbed in it, he sensed someone entering his Mirror Dimension.
When he turned around, he found a curvaceous female warrior staring foolishly at him.
Moreover, her attire gradually overlapped with a character from his memories.
One of the rare fierce figures in the entire DC universe capable of facing Superman head-on!
Wonder Woman—Diana Prince!
