Background

Xiao Yuting was born on the Heavenly Spirit Continent as Xiao Wanqing’s younger half-sister. Their father’s principal wife gave birth to Wanqing, while Yuting was born to a concubine; Wanqing was fifteen years older and widely celebrated as the Lineage’s favored daughter. 31

Yuting was bullied during her childhood. After one such incident, Wanqing carried the injured girl to a mountaintop and watched the sunset with her, establishing sunsets as a lasting symbol of comfort and their bond. 31

At twenty-five, Yuting advanced to Dou Emperor. She later took revenge on the branch descended from those who had mistreated her, devastating nearly half of the Xiao Clan before being unable to remain there. She wandered the continent for the following year, often watching sunsets alone. 32

After Yuting reunited with Wanqing following sixteen years apart, an assassination attempt by the Xue and Qin Clans poisoned Wanqing and sealed her body, reducing her strength drastically. Third-Round Poison Test

Yuting enters Xiao Yan’s series of battles as the third challenger. Rather than fight directly, she infects him with poison from her own blood and demands that he detoxify it with his flame; failure would mean death. Xiao Yan succeeds, and Yuting declares the round lost before offering to protect him if needed. 6 7

Defense of Xiao Yan

Following the fourth battle, Yuting openly shields the injured Xiao Yan from Xiao Ming’s group and threatens violence against anyone who attacks him. Xiao Wanqing’s arrival prevents the confrontation from escalating further. 9

Ten-Thousand-Zhang Mountain Conflict
