Bai Yue was an exceptionally gifted cultivator born with an Innate Dharma Body and a top-grade Water Spiritual Root. She began cultivating at age three and reached Qi Refining Great Perfection by thirteen; she later became the Jade Maiden Sect's master and a revered righteous-path figure. 1 2 29

As sect master, Bai Yue embraced an uncompromising view of “righteousness.” The Judgment System records that she participated in the collective slaughter of 4,399 mortals while pursuing the demonic path. During the operation that targeted Xiao Yu and A Xiang's family, she instructed Ye Zhirou that the lives of “one or two mortals” should not obstruct their larger cause. 1

Bai Yue was subsequently caught in a trap following the attack on A Xiang's home. The Hehuan Sect Master and his wife destroyed her Golden Core, injured her eyes, and left her cultivation ruined. She used a form-shifting disguise to appear as an obese, blind woman, but Xiao Yu recognized her through the Wicked Woman Judgment System and confined her. 1 2

After being released briefly on Jiangliu Mountain, Bai Yue called for aid from Profound Spirit Sect cultivators. Their attempt to exploit her weakened condition shattered her remaining trust in the righteous path; Xiao Yu killed them and returned her to the Judgment Room. 4

Bai Yue later reunited with her chief disciple, Hua Lian, in the Hehuan Sect's alchemy storeroom. Although she initially plotted with Hua Lian to poison and escape from Xiao Yu, she also taught Xiao Yu herb identification, cultivation fundamentals, and pill refinement in exchange for protection. 8 10

By the time news reached her that Shen Mengya had seized the Jade Maiden Sect's former grounds and Ye Zhirou had defected to Shen, Bai Yue began providing Xiao Yu with intelligence on the sect, its Spirit Vein, and Ye Zhirou's family.
