Background
Li Ang transmigrated into the body of Li Ang Carlson, the sickly son of a minor noble family in Carter Village. Carlson had been identified as having wizard aptitude and sent aboard a wizard-controlled ship bound for Riley City, but the lower-deck conditions and abuse from former attendants Matthew and Kavi left him with a severe lung disease. The original body’s owner died in despair before Li Ang awakened within it. 1
Soon after awakening, Li Ang discovered the Facility Upgrade Panel, which allowed him to bind wizarding facilities and equipment. His first binding, the ship’s Gale-Sailing Canvas, gave him control over airflow and created a wind-element mana environment that made meditation possible despite his illness. 1 3
He tested as a Level 4 spiritual-power talent with both wind and water elemental affinities. Rather than openly challenge Matthew and Kavi while still powerless, he quietly developed his magic until he could defend himself. 2 7
Appearance
Li Ang initially appears frail and pale from chronic lung disease, with persistent coughing and an unsteady gait. His condition visibly improves after gaining access to clean air and pure water, and he fully recovers after brewing and drinking a Beginner Lung-Healing Potion. 1 9 36
- Began the story physically weakened by damp lower-deck living conditions and repeated beatings. 1
- His complexion improves after meditation and use of the Gale-Sailing Canvas. 9
- The Muscle-Building Potion later permanently improves his muscle density, bone strength, and cellular vitality. 46
Personality
Li Ang is cautious, pragmatic, and intensely focused on long-term advancement. He avoids drawing attention to his abilities when doing so would create unnecessary danger, and he deliberately chose the Potion School because its facilities offered the best synergy with his Facility Upgrade Panel. 8 16
He is also observant and analytical. His former laboratory experience helps him improvise measurements while brewing, while his repeated experimentation leads him to develop composite stabilizers and the Cold Extraction Method rather than accept conventional potion-making limits. 18 42 43
Despite his guarded nature, Li Ang repeatedly helps people in need. He saves Helena during the sea-monster attack, shares meals with struggling reserve apprentices, and financially supports and trains Lottie. 11 20 26 30
Abilities & Skills
Facility Upgrade Panel
Li Ang’s defining ability allows him to bind facilities and magical equipment with mental power, then upgrade their effects by meeting Astral Star and mental-power requirements. 1 5
- Can bind facilities ranging from ship sails and crucibles to wands and specialized workshop equipment. 1 17 50
- Can withhold the upgraded effects of a bound facility from others. 2
- Cannot expel people from a facility or take an entire bound facility with him. 2
- More advanced facilities require greater mental power to bind and upgrade. 15 50
Wind Magic
Li Ang’s wind affinity and the Gale-Sailing Canvas gave him an early advantage in airflow manipulation and wind-element meditation. 2 3
- Breeze Technique — Creates, gathers, or disperses airflow within the range of his mental guidance. 6
- Used the technique as a compressed shockwave to launch Kavi into a wall. 7
- Can form compressed Wind Hammers capable of destroying the jellyfish-like sea monsters that attacked Helena. 11
- Wind spells receive a substantial boost within the Gale-Sailing Canvas’s effective range. 8
- The Windhawk Wand further increases wind-element spell power by 10% at Lv1. 50
Water Magic
Li Ang possesses water-element affinity alongside his wind affinity. 2
- Water Creation Spell — Condenses moisture into pure drinking water. 9
- Solved his drinking-water problem aboard the ship and soothed his damaged throat. 9
- Supplies purified water for potion brewing when his spiritual power permits. 18 25
Potioncraft
Li Ang is an unusually capable potion refiner whose precision, upgraded equipment, and experimentation allow him to produce results beyond ordinary apprentices. 18 25 29
- Brewed two Calming Potions during Eve’s initial test, securing the opportunity to become her disciple. 18 21
- Produced multiple excellent-quality Calming Potions, then two supreme-quality bottles that earned nine silver coins. 25 29
- Independently brewed a Beginner Lung-Healing Potion and cured his chronic lung disease. 32 36
- Finished first in the Cold-Repelling Potion assessment with an excellent-quality result. 41
- Developed a composite stabilizer using Ice Crystal Stone, Soul Stone, and purified Stone Root Grass. 43
Cold Extraction Method
Li Ang created Cold Extraction as an alternative to traditional heat-based potion refinement. 43 44
- Uses low temperatures to slow the release of medicinal properties from fire-attribute ingredients, allowing otherwise conflicting materials to coexist. 44
- Successfully refined six fire-attribute ingredients together after a twelve-hour extraction process. 44
- Helps reduce the dependence of high-grade potion brewing on exceptionally powerful mental strength. 46
Muscle-Building Potion
Li Ang’s original potion project became far more significant than he initially understood. 42 47
- Permanently enhances physical traits including muscle density, bone strength, and cellular vitality without observed side effects. 46
- According to Eve, its true potential is to guide life forms beyond their existing racial limits and toward evolution. 47
- Its implications could make Li Ang a target for factions seeking—or seeking to suppress—such a breakthrough. 47

Trivia
- Li Ang’s former laboratory work gives him practical measuring skills that help compensate for the Potion School’s lack of beginner equipment. 18
- He writes a knight novel based on remembered story concepts from his past life; Eve secretly becomes invested in its unfinished plot. 38 44
- He chooses inexpensive magical equipment whenever possible, preferring to upgrade basic items himself rather than purchase expensive alternatives. 50
