Seen from above, the altar stretched a hundred miles. A giant pentagram had been built into its center.
At the five points of the pentagram lay five objects of symbolic significance.
They were a crown, a bottle containing the bloodlines of tens of thousands of Dragonkin, a red dragon crest with a gold rim and silver background bearing Green's face, a barrel of subterranean lava from eight planes, and a cloud of black mist that refused to disperse.
These five objects each symbolized one of Green's five Authorities.
At the very center of the altar, on the pentagon where the five lines of the star intersected, five carefully selected Lava Clan priestesses stood at the points of intersection.
The five handpicked priestesses were holy maidens from five different races.
They possessed an utterly pure faith in Green, nearly free of any distracting thoughts.
They all had Dragonkin bloodlines and were pure virgins. The Lava Clan had specially raised them to serve as ritual attendants and help Green ascend.
At the same time, they would also be the first angels of Green's Divine Realm.
The five holy maidens were originally human, Elf, Merfolk, Dwarf, and Astral Fairy.
