Green led Emily and the other two, who had packed their belongings, out of the stone hut. As they walked along the road away from the Stone Hut Cluster, they stood out. The surrounding apprentices and Grand Knights all looked at them with envy.
Some gazes fell on Green, others on the Grand Knights.
The female apprentices and Grand Knights in particular even showed a trace of jealousy when they looked at Emily and the other two. But with Green there, they could only keep it tightly concealed.
Though Emily and the other two wore shabby clothes, their beauty was impossible to hide. Their Grand Knight physiques kept their figures in fine shape.
Clearly, everyone else believed Green had taken Emily and the other two as followers because of their beauty.
In the Wizarding World, followers were different from slaves. Although a contract placed more demands on a follower, the other party also had to take responsibility for that follower's training. It was a way for the weak to attach themselves to the strong without becoming slaves.
Emily and the other two needed Magic Stones to progress, so they scrimped on everything else and dressed in rags. To the other Grand Knights and apprentices, the three had only barely advanced to Grand Knights. And because they relied on their Life Seeds to wield their power instinctively, without the aid of a Breathing Method, they were among the weakest Grand Knights.
If the three had not stuck together, and if fighting had not been forbidden at the front, others would likely have come looking for trouble long ago.
"Master, we took on guard duty at the walls. If we're leaving, we need to inform the people in charge here!" Emily suddenly said as they neared the edge of the Stone Hut
