Turning his gaze back to the entrance, Green looked at the sealed city hall. He had already guessed the entire sequence of the trial.
According to the usual plot, he should head to Bliss Plaza and Dreamland Zoo, complete a series of tasks, and collect the corresponding tokens. Then, at the crossroads, he would take the road leading to city hall.
In between, he would also have to deal with the humanoid giant serpent. Given that the serpent possessed considerable intelligence, aside from killing it by force, the proper approach was probably to use the items he had obtained to win it over.
Then he would learn the truth about the city from the humanoid giant serpent.
Finally, he would arrive at city hall and face the ultimate trial.
The outcome would be one of two things: either he won, gaining power while resolving the crisis engulfing the entire Blissful City, and successfully returned to reality.
Or he failed, losing not only his life but also watching the entire city fall for good.
However, given how trials in the Deep Dream World worked, there was probably also a way to ignore the plot, hide until the very end, and then leave. The only problem was that the power gained that way would likely be meager. At its core, that too counted as failure.
After all, the trials in the Deep Dream World kept growing harder. Falling behind once meant falling behind at every turn, and sooner or later, he would die in a future trial for lack of power.
Looking at the pitch-black iron gate and the city hall beyond it, Green's lips curved into a faint smile.
He controlled the energy within his body, using his understanding of the Laws to swiftly alter its composition.
