Along a road leading out of the Pale Forest, a carriage rolled slowly onward. Its driver wore a straw hat, but her figure beneath her clothes made it clear she was a woman. People along the road stepped aside. A carriage emerging from the Pale Forest likely belonged to a Wizard.
Inside, Green sat with two maids beside him. One massaged his temples while the other kneaded his legs.
Green rested with his eyes closed, as if asleep.
In his Mental Space, a huge map appeared.
"Chip! Find nearby Wizard Markets! Requirements: ample resources and high security!"
As Green issued his request, several red dots appeared on the blue map. Winding red lines marked the routes to them.
Green examined the dots. Each marked a Wizard Market recorded in the Library, generally run by a Wizard family or a small Wizard Organization. These were long-established markets with good reputations and security.
"The Walker Family Market it is!" Green ultimately chose a market relatively close to the Academy.
The reason was that the Walker Family had ties to the Academy. Many Wizard Apprentices there had accepted the family's sponsorship. Once they became Formal Wizards, they provided protection to the Walker Family in return.
This was a common investment strategy among Wizard families in the Wizarding World. Although a Wizard's descendants were somewhat more likely to possess Wizard Aptitude, it was far from guaranteed, and their talent was uncertain. To secure their family's legacy, Wizard families had developed this form of investment.
The sun moved steadily westward, and the carriage reached a fork in the road.
