The pitch-black cave reeked of sulfur. Red rock radiated scorching heat, and the entire environment was extraordinarily dry. Ordinary life kept well away from this place.
In the dark cave, Green carefully surveyed his surroundings, his scales faintly glowing red and his pupils like molten gold.
The darkness had little effect on his current Dragon Race body. Red Dragons could reach the Legendary Realm upon reaching adulthood, and were adapted to all kinds of environments.
After advancing for a while, a fork appeared in the cave.
Standing at the fork, Green sensed the pheromones carried through the air on either side and immediately discerned that the side passage led to a food storehouse.
He headed toward the warehouse where the food was kept. At the end of the passage, a great heap of well-preserved corpses came into view, each wrapped in magical patterns.
There were giant lizards, large elk-horses, Sword Lion Beasts, and Monsters of all different ranks—more than a hundred in total.
Green even spotted large swordfish and octopuses among them, creatures of the Ocean.
At the far end of the warehouse stood a huge red barrier.
One glance was enough for Green to understand its purpose: it was designed to identify True Dragons and Dragon Beasts.
Dragon Beasts couldn't pass through the barrier to reach the food.
"Just as expected, the Chromatic Dragons really hate Dragon Beasts. The barrier alone must have cost far more than everything in this warehouse!"
For a True Dragon, having one of their own offspring turn out to be a Dragon Beast was completely unacceptable. It was a rejection of their own noble bloodline.
