Cooperation between two evil races never lasted long before it fell apart.

Every three or four months, their alliance would collapse, and they would turn to another race instead.

It was precisely under these circumstances that a war first broke out within the island.

If cooperation wouldn't work, then it was time to fall back on the evil races' most basic logic: rather than cooperate, they might as well enslave one another.

The powerful but less numerous races were the first to set their sights on those with vast numbers but little strength.

And so the short, cowardly bullies with pitiful fighting ability but high fertility—the Goblins—were the first to be attacked and enslaved
