Hain's face was filled with pride at her words, as though basking in reflected glory.
Having a Special Envoy mother was Hain's greatest pride.
Hain said, "Mom, he's about to begin."
Leo was currently in a room at the training center, with Alice standing beside him.
Alice said, "Wizard Leo, I'll wait outside."
What spells a Wizard knew was a personal secret. Aside from research projects, where Wizards had to demonstrate their abilities and results, their spells were generally kept hidden.
Alice felt that watching this might touch upon Leo's secrets, so she offered to leave.
But Leo said, "It's fine, Alice. Just watch from the side. This isn't some secret that needs to be hidden."
"Let's start with this spell."
As he spoke, Leo looked toward the targets placed in the center of the training room.
These targets resembled human figures and could also transform into beast forms. They could even simulate a Wizard's combat style. They were a type of magitech tool.
After speaking, Leo pressed the activation button.
The targets began to move.
They turned into streaking figures.
Those figures moved at incredible speed.
Leo's gaze shifted slightly as he cast the first spell he intended to demonstrate.
Streams of space-cleaving magic slashed out, chopping one moving target into mincemeat.
A moment later, the target returned to its original state.
Leo nodded in satisfaction and said, "I've finally practiced this spell until it looks halfway decent."
Alice gave a wry smile beside him. "Wizard Leo, this is far more than halfway decent. This is Multi-Stage Cutting, isn't it? My father learned this spell too, but although he's a First-Rank Wizard Apprentice, he still can't cast it as quickly as you."
Leo said, "Practice makes perfect, that's all."
Outside the barrier, Keli's expression grew somewhat solemn when she
