Though Nova had not answered directly, he had still given Leo a direction for his studies.

Nova's gaze remained as still as an ancient well.

Suddenly, he asked, "Danville, do you want to read a book?"

Without a moment's thought, Leo answered directly, "Of course. If you're willing to lend me a book, I'd be more than happy to spend time on it."

The books Nova read were all related to Wizards, and Leo was very interested in them.

Every book might represent one or several new illustrations to Leo.

Nova said, "Take a look at this one."

Nova handed over a book.

"Basic Magitech Studies?" Leo muttered as he read the title.

Nova said, "This book should broaden your thinking at your current stage. It may not directly solve your Arcane Hand problem, but it should still help you."

Leo hurriedly said, "Alright, I'll study this book carefully."

Nova gave a slight nod. "Careful reading is a good thing, but I can only lend you this book for a short while. You must return it when I disembark."

"Alright, Wizard Nova."

After Leo took the book, Nova returned to his group of three.

The burly Kamon said, "Nova, you seem to think highly of that Wizard Seedling."

Nova said, "We simply get along well. I rarely encounter someone who can immerse himself in a sea of books like I can."

Fula said, "He's a Prossian, isn't he?"

"Yes, just like you."

Upon hearing that, Kamon looked at Fula and said, "Fula, why do I feel like you're less affected by this Wizard Seedling than Nova is?"

Fula said, "What reaction should I have? Although we are both Prossians, that doesn't mean I have to look after him. We Prossians advocate handling our own affairs ourselves."

"Even when the Kingdom of Plos still existed, we Prossians taught children to use weapons at the age of six and sent them out to hunt wild beasts."

"He's already this old. Why should I still look after him like a child?"

"Alright, alright, I won't argue with you about that." Kamon shook his head, curiosity appearing on his face. "Nova, Fula, how about we make a bet? Do you think this Wizard Seedling can help these knights hunt this sea monster?"

Fula said, "Stonefish is not an easy sea monster to deal with, especially for an inexperienced Wizard. Though he has mastered Mental Radiation, he is the only one who can use it. I think the chances of his hunt failing are very high."

Nova said, "I think the same."

To be honest, although Nova thought fairly highly of Leo, he also believed there was a considerable chance Leo would fail.

Hearing this, Kamon shook his head and said, "Oh dear, I also think failure is highly likely. The three of us all think he'll fail, so there's no bet to be made."

"But then again, a Wizard Seedling who chose to help a knight order at a time like this could not have much potential anyway."

Nova said, "Kamon, what you said is far too disrespectful toward Fula and the Prossians."

Fula spoke up. "Kamon is stating facts. I admit that as well."

"See? Even Fula thinks so, which proves I make perfect sense. Haha." Kamon appeared as expressionless as stone, yet he was not only talkative, but also loved to burst into laughter whenever he spoke.

Only after Nova left did Hughes come over. His face was filled with admiration as he said, "Danville, you're incredible. You actually know Wizard Nova. My heavens, could it be that someone in your family is a Formal Wizard?"

Leo said, "No, my family is very ordinary."

"That's truly astonishing! That's Wizard Nova! Even my mentor sings his praises and often compares him with us freshmen. Someone so high above us actually took the initiative to speak with you. You're amazing."

Leo shook his head. "It's nothing."

Seeing that Leo remained unruffled by either favor or disgrace, Hughes envied him immensely.

Receiving guidance from a super-genius mentor like Nova was something many Wizard Seedlings dreamed of.

"By the way, Hughes, I have a question for you. What level is your mental power talent? Of course, you don't have to answer if it's inconvenient."

Hughes said, "It's not inconvenient. My mental power talent is Level 4. Not enough to compare with those above, but more than enough compared to those below."

Leo fell into thought upon hearing this.

Even a Wizard Seedling with Level 4 mental power talent like Hughes had failed to master Mental Radiation. It seemed the difficulty of learning Mental Radiation truly was very high.

Perhaps, just as Wizard Nova had said, this was a method only Wizards who had condensed a Spiritual Seed would learn.

Then Leo leaned against the railing behind him and said, "Hughes, I'm going to start reading."

Leo took out Basic Magitech Studies, a flicker of eagerness passing through his eyes.

After reading it, Leo discovered that Magitech Studies, Potionology, and even spells all shared the same underlying principles.

That was, every ability of a Wizard came from mental energy reacting with matter.

In Potionology, potions were formed by combining mental energy with medicinal herbs to create brews with unique effects.

Magitech Studies, on the other hand, combined certain substances to create Magitech items with unique effects.

For example, the Eyeball Cube Leo had just bought was made by combining animal eyeballs with metal and infusing them with mental energy.

Though the principle was simple, actual practice still depended on one's control over mental energy and choice of materials.
